Work Work Work

So, my second round of summer classes started today.  I also taught my first ever class.  The kids were wonderful!  I had so much fun!  I get to teach the vocab portion of the lesson every day.  Thankfully this summer program teaches directly from a basal (by the book), so I don't have to plan my own lessons.  I think I would be a little overwhelmed if I had to do that for my very first class.  Some of the kids told me "You're a really nice teacher."  Awww.  Makes me feel like I might be good at this someday.

Ok, so stories from Myrtle - or, rather, THE story.

Sunday night, Kimmy, Puja, and I met up with Devon and her friend Christina.  Little did any of us know what lay in store for the rest of our evening.  We were going to go to this new club we heard about on the radio called Coconuts.  Well, we get there are there are like 6 people in the whole place.  Screw that.  So we walk around for a while and stop to ask this girl at a henna tattoo shop what and where are the good clubs.  During this conversation we discover "landmark" is not a word in the South Carolinian vocabulary.

Anyway, we end up at Freaki Tiki.  The place was nuts.  So many people.  A few drinks later Devon and I are up to our waist in bubbles.  Yes, they had a bubble room - that was cool.  But then they turned off the bubbles for a boxers contest.  Boxers like underwear, not like punching.  I preferred the bubbles.  This was about an hour before the wet t-shirt contest which was the final event before they kicked everyone out of the club at 2.  Oh, and at some point duing this process, my sister picked up a marine - who came with 2 marine friends.  And Devon and Puja found some *nice* (so we thought) Irish boys complete with hott accents.

At 2 am, when too much money had already been spent on alcohol, we decided the night was too young and we didn't nearly get our $20 cover charge out of Freaki Tiki.  So back to Coconuts we go - where Puja had already established a deep phone-relationship with Joe, the guy who kept answering everytime we called for directions and whatnot.  Well, since this club is open until 4 and 21+ gets in free (and only $10 cover for kimmy & puja), we decide this is where we will end our evening.   The 3 marines and the 2 Irish boys come along.

Well, at  Coconuts, everyone's having a good time.  Through a bizarre series of events that follow in the next few hours, we have:

1 missing wallet and disposable camera

2 cops (1 hott, 1 nott)

2 Irish boys - 1 being an ass and 1 lost....never did find out what happened to Davey

3 marines - 1 very drunk.  2 nice boys.

3 ho's

1 pimp

and 4 cokeheads (that being the 3 ho's & 1 pimp) in an SUV with 1 drunken marine sprawled on the hood as they peel out of the parking lot.

I'm not entirely sure I should go into all the details.  Mainly because it would take FAR too long to write.  And, also, because I'm lazy and would rather keep you guessing.

Beginning the evening I had thought "we'll be home at 3/330.  Well, at 330, we had a group of guys picking up couches and a bouncer who was totally useless.  At 545 we find ourselves at Denny's, and Devon has proclaimed herself Nancy Drew & found herself a Hardy Boy. (Such a nice guy!)

At 7 am, on the way up the elevator to our room/luxury suite - where mom, dad, kayla, allison, grandma, & grandpa are also staying - puja says "what are we gonna tell your parents?? what's our story."  To which I say "the truth.  just what happened."  Clearly puja is shocked at the notion.

So, we get back - grandma has already been up and is having breakfast, mom & dad are still asleep.  we've been up far too long and the 3 of us get in bathing suits and head the beach.  lovely.  puja passes out while kimmy and i go for a dip.

I think we broke our Puja.

And I've been told that Skip (Dev's dad) is no longer allowing his daughter to hang out with Everson girls.  We're far too negative an influence on sweet & innocent Devon, apparently. (not really)

Other stuff happened too, but that was by far the highlight.  WICKED fun!  I wish I didnt have to come home for school - I'd love to still be down there with everyone.  I think tonight or tomorrow Kimmy, Puja, Devon, & Christina are hitting up Kryptonite.  Who doesn't love a superman-themed nightclub?
