Hmm, bizarre moment in the SV lift (elevator, whatever) before. Three Japanese guys got in and faced me. Instead of the door. That's not the British way, guys! You're supposed to stare at the door in a detached, aloof manner and refrain from the merest hint of eye contact. It totally upstaged the whole lift politics thing. No longer had any idea where to look. Most bizarre.
In other news, was *almost* on time for my lecture today. Which was on punk, hoorah! Followed by a screening of the Filth and the Fury, always a pleasure. Surprised, however, to find that there wasn't really anything from the lecture I didn't already know about punk. Was more surprised to find that my fellow studes didn't know much. So ignorant about music, these young 'uns! They don't know who anyone is anymore.
I've yet to meet someone my age who knows who Malcomn McClaren is. Not many have heard of Siouxie Sioux either. T'is a shame.
