It's the 3rd of January already? Whoa, slow down 2009, there's plenty of time!

What have I been up to? Well, firstly I welcomed in the new year with my accomplice, Pinot Grigio. This, um, may have involved leaning out of the window telling 2008 in no uncertain terms where to go. This also may have involved the F word, and my apologies to the neighbourhood. But it was hugely cathartic. As 2008 drew to a close, it felt like the end of a horror film, where the sun finally comes up after a hellish night and then the baddie is revealed to be alive SOMEHOW and gets the survivors after all.

The next day we went to my Gran's house to celebrate my Mum's birthday, an occasion much less demanding than Christmas and my own birthday so it was fine. My cousin Mac has learned of my '''novel''' and has therefore took great interest and so now I have to try and write him in there somewhere. Macaulay not being a very common name, this could be a slight challenge. That and the fact my other two cousins will have to be in there too, now, and before you know it everyone I've ever met.

Other than that, I've been watching disappointing television. Demons was a pile of tosh. A pile of cliched (God, everything on TV is becoming the same at the moment), wooden tosh. Even Phil Glenister, my beloved Phil, couldn't save it. He should have been Manc, clearly. And the Doctor Who revelation has really put a crimp on my night, and I'm not even much of a fangirl. I'm sure Mr Smith is the most charismatic actor ever, and he'll probably be fine, but he is STILL. TOO. YOUNG. The show desperately needed an older, more paternal Dr now that Russell 'Eye Candy' T Davies has stepped down. Furthermore, Foetus Boy the guy's far too similiar to David Tennant, which seems a bit like a cop out. I've been saying for ages that I trust Steven Moffat to pick a fantastic doctor so this has thrown me a fair bit. There were so many great actors it could have been, who would have fit like a glove. It just feels wrong.

Finally, can someone inform Mum and James you *can* have vegetarian fajitas? Because you can, and they're much nicer.
