A Text Based Thriller

Oct 08, 2007 00:34

In a slight return to ordinary (HA.) blogging, I got woken up at 9:01 this morning by something completely mystifying. My phone, old though it is, allows you to set the alarm to not only wake you up, but inform you of important notes. And this morning it threw at me the following:

Bex! :-) 24

Accompanied by the 'birthday'  gift icon. WHUT. For a start, I don't ever recall making such a note, evidently it was something long ago. More importantly I don't know anyone who has a birthday on the 7th October (feel free to inform me otherwise if I've made such a big error). I'm mostly baffled by the '24'. There's a few unlikely possibilities:

1) Past me just wanted to surprise future me with a ridiculously random note. Wrongly reminding of my age. I know my maths is bad, but really. Plus I hardly ever do smileys like that so this implies that it *is* an old note. And since 2002 when I got the phone, I'm not up at 9:01 (random time too) unless I'm at work in which case an alarm would not be welcome.
2) It really is someone's 24th birthday and *They* wrote the note.
3) 24 days to Halloween? There's straws and there's clutching.
4) Something important happens at 24:00. As far as I know, I was washing up.
5) It's a cryptic message FROM THE FOOOOOTARRRRR.

I'm worried now. What else is waiting on this phone?

spooky, random, technofear
