Work work work

Not a whole lot new.

I took Otis to the shop yesterday. 320$ later, he's got a new exhaust sensor or whatever, and he's working again. It was 60$ for the analysis, then 160$ for the part, and an hours worth of labor at 85$/hr. Add in tax, etc. So yeah, not fun. Reading about the part that was replaced though, sounds like it was a good candidate for causing the other problems I was having with my car (smelly exhaust, burning oil in the engine, transmission/acceleration issues). Hopefully this should make my car a little happier...

John and I got the last big load of stuff moved to the self storage place last night. He wants to move some more, but 1) the object wont fit in his car, it sure as hell wont fit in mine, and 2) I'm tired of moving crap around. I just want to unpack, get stuff organized, and be done with it. Now we're to that point though. I need to find a home for all my stuff that I want/need to keep at the house. I have a bunch of clothes to go through and take to donate to GoodWill or whatever. I meant to do that last Oct, but never got to it due to the second job, then the move.. Now I have the time. I may start working on that tonight.

I worked 11.5 freaking hours on Sunday. I was awakened at 930 in the morning by a call from the office. I spent 30 min trying to figure out what to do, then called them and told them to rerun the job that failed. Then at 1050, my boss called and told me to come into the office at noon. I was there until 11 at night. Just crazy times. I'd hoped to actually get shit done on Sunday, but that didn't happen at all.

This weekend I have to go shopping for Archana's gift. I have a good idea of what to get her.. I just need to get it.

Tonight, I'm gonna run by UPS and drop off the Dish Network boxes. When they came out to install the satellite, they found they couldn't mount it where they needed to. So I had to cancel. I asked when I did, if I had to send back the dish or if it was just the receivers. They told me on the phone, "No, just leave it there..". So I did. They sent me empty boxes to send back the receivers. They also included instructions for how to take down and send back the dish. I'm like what the hell?? So I called them to find out what I actually had to send back (ie.. do I have to drive back down to my apartment and start taking stuff off the building??). I told them what I'd been told, they noted it on the account, and I packed up the receivers and now I should be done with that.

After the trip to UPS, it's a stop off at Menards. Seriously.. I'm at Menards waaayyy too fucking often. John and I had to buy a bunch of stuff and do a lot of work in the room that is currently ours. But anyway.. John and I want to get an evaporative humidifier for our bedroom and they currently have a decently sized one made by Bemis/Essick Air for $30. We've been using my cold mist one, and it's leaving dust on stuff.

Anyway.. I have a meeting to head off to. Wheee...
