Hey guys, I've got to make this quick.
I'm running off of a generator and satellite right now, so we'll see how long I can be able to update. It took us most of the day to get power into the house. My dad's been letting the gas generator sit for awhile, so we had to flush it - and we didn't even have it out by the house like we normally do, so we had to chance going outside to get to the back shed to get the damn thing. It's heavy, but it's on wheels. Thankfully, we had some reserves of gas for the lawn mower in the garage/studio, but I'm not sure how long that's going to last either.
Most of the time my dad makes sure we've got enough gas to last us a week or so, when the storms hit and all but right now I think we're down to a few days since we haven't gone and filled up the containers since last year. He won't tell me. My mom's in Ohio right now, and I think that's got most of his attention. We haven't been able to get a hold of her either.
Eric and Sean are here - (god, Adam, are you okay?). I haven't heard anything from you all day. I'm using Sean's Kahr, it's a bitch on recoil, but it's what we have. Already in braces again. I know that seems like a stupid thing to complain about, but it's like all of this bullshit happens this morning and all I can think about is how much my wrists hurt. There's corpses on my front lawn. They're my neighbors. I've talked to them, walked my dog with them, and all I can think of is that I'm in pain. I guess that's the cost of being human sometimes, we're all appallingly self-centered. Survival instinct, maybe. I don't know.
They've tried to get into our house, I don't know why. Right now, though, there's no one. The streets are empty but for the group we shot this morning. Cellphones aren't working for the most part. Reception is terrible when they do work. My dad says he thinks my mom picked up once. All he's been doing is trying to call her. We don't have cable, so I don't even know if the television stations are still up.
I think I'm going to have power for another couple of hours, then we'll have to shut it down for the time being to save the reserves for nighttime. If you're reading this, please give us any information you can about what's happening. We'll be shutting down the generator at about five, and then it'll be back up around nine, when it gets completely dark again. That's when they get loud - the screeching starts, the screaming, the moaning. I haven't slept since sometime Thursday.
No one wants to go outside to fuck with the generator, so we've been drawing straws - to make it fair and all. I'm next.
Let me know if you're okay, alright? I'll try to keep the updates coming as often as possible.
