how should someone handle this situation

my daughter just called me from seattle with the following problem:

for her trip my daughter's boss gave her one of her suitcases (it's large, has wheels and is in very nice condition--it's ugly, it's chartreuse, but not the problem), she gave it to her so the suitcase now belongs to kyrie.

my daughter was in a hurry to pack because she had injured ( Read more... )

I would seriously have no idea what to do. I would probably be horrified, shove it in a bag, and toss it. First of all, no way to know if it's washed... and second of all, hey, I would be really shocked if a boss came up to me like "Oh, hey, I left my vibe in your bag..."

i suggested she retrieve it with an inside-out zip-baggie and hand it to her boss privately (and sterilize the suitcase compartment with an alcohol saturated paper towel).

kyrie (my daughter) thinks it's hilarious and believes her boss will too.

*snicker snicker* I imagine she is going to feel a bit awkward around her boss for a while. I would say just leave it in that zip compartment and not say anything about it. If/when the boss realizes she left it in there when she loaned the suitcase out, then she is probably going to feel rather awkward, too. But the ball will be in her court as to whether she wants to say anything about it or stay silent and hope your daughter never saw it.

LOLz she gave her the suitcase-- to keep. i suggested she retrieve it with an inside-out zip-baggie and hand it to her boss privately (and sterilize the suitcase compartment with an alcohol saturated paper towel).

kyrie (my daughter) thinks it's hilarious and believes her boss will too and doesn't want to miss her boss's expression if she pretended it didn't exist.

I'd still retrieve and sterilize the compartment, but personally I would probably toss it and not say anything. Some things are best ignored no matter how fun/demented your boss may be! :D
