Dub vs. Sub

Nov 16, 2008 02:35

I really have nothing against English Dub. Really, nothing.

Unless they spoil a series, but that's a different post...

See, the reason I post is that I just watched Episode 2 of Code Geass R2, which lets me hear quite a few new voices (Gino, Anya, w/e)

After first watching the sub and then watching the dub, it's come to my attention that it's not as epic sounding. There isn't as much umphf to it, not enough emotion. Like the "BLOW UP BRITAINNIA!" became more of a "Blow up BRITAINNIA" kind of blow in the wind. It didn't bring much. THat part in particular. The battle scenes were very "unrealistic" and didn't fit the CG-ness that it should.

Well, then there's Gino. It's not Gino in my mind. The voice just doesn't match as well as I had hoped.

But I can't complain. I will stay up and risk getting written up to watch my beloved Code Geass. Yes I will.

I'm tired. Watched too many screens today, so I shall take my leave. G'nite!
