Voices I Favor:
Super Junior's CHO KYUHYUN: Deep and rich, yet mellow at the same time. His ballads are simply amazing, as with his control of his vocals. Some may argue that he sometimes lack emotions when he sings, but that's his charm to me. Especially with sad songs, his style makes the lyrics sound all the more painful with the suppressed hurt and forced joy. His best solo for me, 7 Years of Love.
KIM JONG KOOK: Not a well known singer for my generation, but definitely an idol for his era. Once you get past his unusually high singing voice for a male, his songs are really good. While I suppose he does lack quite a bit of power in his vocals, but his control with the high notes are commendable. There's not one bad song from him, and one have to really be nit-picking to choose a bad one. His music videos are sometimes quite extraordinarily artistic, like Come Back To Me and This Is The Person. It really goes to show a good music video doesn't really need the singer's face in it. So far I've only listened to his latest 3 albums, Here I Am, Eleventh Story and Kim Jong Kook Remake Album 'Song', but they are all really amazing collection of songs.
LEE JI EUN aka IU: Her control of the higher range of notes are amazing, especially in Good Day her 3 octaves. Well she is known for singing high notes, but more than that I find her singing the lower range even more charming. I didn't really enjoy Marshmallow despite it's popularity, but her later songs keep getting better. Her earlier albums aren't exactly impressive nor really good per se, but her later albums keep getting better, especially REAL and REAL+ album, together with Alicia (which was an OST?).
SNSD's KIM TAEYEON: Her singing abilities is well acknowledged by everyone. Her vocals are amazingly strong and clear, and OSTs sung by her more often than not are really good. Athena's I Love You, Beethoven Virus' Can You Hear Me and Hong Gil Dong's If. I personally think SNSD's vocals really can't do without Taeyeon....literally. I'm not saying she should go solo, but she should try releasing a solo album, just as I think Kyuhyun should also release a solo album.
Voices I anticipate (in other words I think I will like, but have never gotten around to listening):
Sunny Hill
Lee Seung Gi
Kim Bum Soo
BoA
Brian Joo
Well the list for either one might extend as time goes on, but as of now, that's all.
Actually I acknowledge there are alot of great singers out there, such as Super Junior's Kim Jongwoon (Yesung), everyone from 2AM, TVXQ's Kim Junsu etc, but those up there are the vocals that really appeal to me and I will never get tired of listening to.
