It's been a week of craziness around here. Kokopelli's birthday was last weekend, and we had a party for him. 9 kids around the age of four for two hours. My mom was here to help, and was a life-saver on more than one occasion. My mother-in-law was invaluable as the photographer for the event - I would have forgotten to take photos at all if she hadn't been here. My brother-in-law's girlfriend was great as well - she came to the rescue several times. It was great, glorious fun, and after they left we all sat down and had a BIG glass of wine. :)
Kokopelli decided at the last minute that he wanted a dog cake and a dog party. Some of you may remember last year's octopus cake:

So when he announced that he wanted a dog, I breathed a sigh of relief. After an octopus, this would be easy.
And it WAS! Here he is:

He only took an hour and a half!
I made gift bags, too:

They turned out very well. Each one has a little stuffed dog in it. I kept them in a basket marked"Puppy Adoption Today" and gave them out as they left. This seemed to make them all happy to go ahead and go home when it was over - once the first one got his, they all wanted one, and raced for the door. I highly recommend this bribery method for getting little guests to leave after the party is over!
It was a lot of fun. I'm in no hurry for next year to come around, though! :)
