Info for all current homeowners in Western Australia.
The Stamp Amendment Bill 2005 was introduced and second read yesterday in the Legislative Assembly. The Bill seeks to: allow for an exemption from mortgage duty for mortgage refinancing loans undertaken by owner-occupiers of homes and small business owners.
The mortgage duty exemptions are to commence from 1 January 2006.
So if you are looking at refinancing - you’ll save yourself some money by waiting until next year.
