Dead, not sleeping

“Grandma?”

“Hm?” Nellie looked down at her young grandson. “Oh, hey there, Kal.”

“Grandma, could I talk to you about something?”

“Well, sure, Kal, I don’t see why not, I-”

The phone rang.

“Hello? Oh, hi, yeah, I remember you. You’re one of Lee’s friends. Did you want to leave a message. No? You wanted to talk to him? Uh, that’s not… possible right now. Yeah. Okay. Just call back tonight, okay?”

“Now, what were we talking about?”

“I just wanted to ask-”

The phone rang.

Nellie picked up the phone. “Hello? Yes, this is the Mirusa household. No, I’m afraid he’s not here right now. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, I’ll be sure to tell him that. Okay. Bye now!” She hung up. “Sorry, Kal, go ahead.”

“Well-”

The phone rang again.

“Oh, I’m sorry.” She picked up the phone again. “Hello? I see.” She frowned. “No, he really can’t pick up the phone right now. Yeah. Why don’t you? Good bye.” She hung up, mildly annoyed. “Ugh, sorry, Kal. Go ahead, what were you say-”

The phone rang again.

This time, Nellie picked up with more than enough annoyance to drive her over the edge. “Yes, what is it? I am so tired of getting calls from you so-called ‘friends’ of Lee’s at four in the afternoon. Have you people conveniently forgotten that Lee’s a vampire? Huh? Because he can’t come out in the day just to accept a call from you! Get the picture? All right.” She slammed the phone down against the receiver.

Just as she did, the phone rang again.

Nellie ignored it. "Go ahead, Kal. What did you want to talk to me about?"

Hope you enjoyed that. =]

I want to update some time soon, at least once before the end of the summer. We'll see
