A La Mode 41: Kira Pika Dream
This is KKPC ep 41 review.

Back to this ep review. Comparing to last week, the story here is more appealing than the main story (so-called) ep, ironically. In this series generally, only Ciel and Pikario story is durable. The past Precure story in ep 32? They used up all the materials right after ep 32, including Diable, Pekorin's human form, Pikario's awake and Precure power up. The last 8 eps depends on Elysio's performance. This ep is the goal of Ciel and Pikario's development, following by Aoi, Himari, Akira, Yukari (Christmas ep) and Ichika (Birthday). If the Christmas/New Year break is a week break, it will be 50 eps, otherwise it is 49. Since only this siblings and Bibury have the connection with Noir, the last few eps may focus on them like this ep. From the description in this ep, Ciel is undoubtedly the real heroine in the whole series. What we can't get from KiraPati and KKPC, it can get from Ciel. Ciel has the sweets dream; she runs a shop to pursue. Moreover, her shop has the Nuts house - family feel. She has Pikario as her brother (real family member) and Bibury as her friend living there. When the story goes with this siblings, KKPC definitely stand aside. However, Himari and the senior group work well. The food knowledge flaws are still there...but the drawing and the fight are pretty well done. I would say this ep is one of the best eps in this series.
As for HugPC design, it is confirmed to be the real design. My comment on HugPC design will be posted in Cure Cheese.
It is rare to see Noir appearing in the beginning of the ep. (He is so flat...)
Elysio: I am going to make this series into Battle Spirits!
Noir: Are you serious? You know I am from Might Gaine... How can I become Battle Spirits....?
Elysio: No...do you know that Precure had been developed into Robot series (SmPC ep 35) and Battle Spirits (HaCha) before?
Noir: Really?
Elysio: I just make use of the past setting.

After the above conversation (fake), let's see Ciel de reve in the morning.
To confirm Pikario's awake, Kirarin just dives to him.
Kirarin: Bonjour kira!
Pikario: Wa!
Kirarin: Pikario, you really wake up kira!
Pikario: Of course, pika!
This is the description of Pikario's, as well as Ciel de reve morning.
This is the most comical moment in this ep.
Bibury: I had never thought of having breakfast with you.
Rio: This is my phrase, dweller.
Bibury: Dweller? You are also the one!
Bibury, he is not. He is Ciel's brother, he has the right to stay here unless Ciel doesn't allow him to do so.
Well, for Bibury, she is not living here for free. Her waitress work can cover her living cost here. (Of course, she doesn't count so much about this)
Ciel: Non! You two can't quarrel! You are my brother, and you are my friend. You two should get along well.
Although Pikario becomes goodie, his character doesn't change much. It also applies to Bibury.

I don't know why Bibury's eyes are drawn like that, but she is surprised of Pikario's stand up. Perhaps she just wonders why Pikario stands up while having breakfast. (From their conversation just now, she should not have such reaction like this.)
As I said in the preview last week, his hair should keep Rio's length. Now he has to tie his hair like this...and the hairband is too disturbing...I don't think they have to change his hair to cyan, but they want to show he becomes goodie...even they change the colour, how about Cerulean blue?
About this kind of blue hair, we are familiar in these two Precure:
As you know, these girls' hair will become lighter blue after transformation...but before that, their colours are even darker than Pikario. By looking closely, Pikario's hairstyle looks like Hime...(the end cut). Actually, Pikario's end cut (it also applies to Ciel) doesn't really match to his fringe, when you compare his to Hime. For Hime, her hairstyle is all rounded. Ciel is not that obvious because her fringe is aside, but Rio-kun is obvious. You can see what happen to his hair later.
There is such a long time being apart. Ciel takes the chance to walk around the town with Pikario.
By looking at this scene, you may ask : Why these girls (classmates) suddenly appear?
You need to know that there is not much time for these girls showing in the series.
Risa and Junko: WA---! Rio-kun! Long time no see!
It is very odd that they can know he is Rio from his back.
We have to remember who is Rio-kun first. This is the Rio-kun we usually know.
He is short-haired and his hair colour is much darker than now. Also, his pupil is better than now. For the pupil design...it is funny that when he is in villain form, he has the human eyes; while he is in his real self, his eyes are the mascot(?) one...
How can they recognize?
Owing to ep 24, Risa always think that Rio-kun is sick. (although Ichika can't explain anything).
Risa: Are you sick? Are you ok now? Your health...
Although KKPC don't explain, it is true that he had been ill for couple eps.
Rio: Sorry for that time...
Risa: What are you talking about?
Besides Risa forgot everything about ep 12 happening, her drawing changes a lot. (Rio-kun was drawn well in ep 12, but here is not so cool...whereas Risa is better here.)
Actually, the shopkeeper doesn't need to appear to voice their relationship.
Risa and Junko should not recognize Rio at the back, but Ciel, as the celebrity, they surely know her. They can call Ciel first then recognize Rio, and then ask...
Risa: Why you go out with Rio-kun? Are you two...
Rio: We are siblings! Twins!
Risa & Junko: E? Twins? but your surname are different!
Ichika: Er...
Himari: It is very complicated...
You should take note on Himari in this ep. Her concern towards Rio-kun is more than others (even more than Ichika.)
About the siblings with different surnames, it is familiar to us as FPC had this setting to Miki and Kazuki. For Ciel, her name Kiraboshi Ciel can be just her artist name (celebrity name), she can say to be Kuroki Ciel.
Meanwhile, Elysio is targeting Ciel and Rio. It is reasonable he targets Rio-kun because he is Elysio's former "colleague".
By the way, when the villain aims at certain Precure, which means that Precure has special relationship with the villain, and/or the Precure is threatening.

Cure Passion - Westar concerns more on her
Cure Moonlight - due to the battle in ep 1 and Dark Precure's persistence

Cure Felice - targeted by Gametsu, strong appearance
I am not saying others are weak, but these are special beings to the villains. For this scatted villain group, if the only cadre Elysio specially aims Ciel (+ Rio) at this arc (thinking of Dream, Beauty, Honey, Flora...), Ciel is confirmed to be the strongest Precure and the true heroine in this series.
Ok, let's see how Elysio tricks the siblings...

Ok, firstly, if Rio-kun intends to mischief, he should be in Julio's look, not this one.
Secondly, this is related to the shop security and hygiene.
I know that people in drama are usually very careless that the thief easily breaks into their house, so we can't pick on this as it is a common (but not very clever) plot device. What I want to point out is the food storage. Even this series is just talking about sweets, the basic knowledge of food storage should be shown. I think even those who don't know cooking also know that the food can't just put outside like this because it will lure insects like cockroach and mouse. Of course, if the shopkeepers are clever enough, the kirakiraru theft cannot be succesful.
Next morning, Rio-kun doesn't stroll. He looks at Ciel's working. About Ciel's shop, I seldom see other colleages after Bibury joins, as if Bibury does all the work, even the preparation.
Unlike ep 21-22, Rio-kun is able to help Ciel on stirring. It implies Rio-kun is working on this shop in the future as well.
Ciel: très bien!
Rio is happy at this moment, but the next moment...
The shopkeepers in the town go to Ciel's shop in the morning.
Bibury: Hey, the shop is not opened yet!
if you see the above theft, you will have the following questions...
1. How can they know the culprit is Rio-kun without seeing his face at night, and even not meeting him in daytime (only vegetable shopkeeper know his face)?
2. Honestly, I don't know how the patesserie shop deal with the cake leftover in a day. However, from what I know about bakery, they won't leave the cakes and bread outside like above. In this blog (https://delishably.com/desserts/How-to-Store-Cakes), it tells us that sponge cakes should not be refrigerated. (but some cakes like cheese cake or mousse cake have to be refrigerated) Usually, the cake are made in a limited amount to prevent the leftover, so that the patissier can keep making the fresh cake everyday without wasting the food. What the thief does is actually helping them to finish the leftover...since he takes the kirakiraru, the cakes can throw away. Even he doesn't take, the cakes also cannot sell on the next day (as they are cut cakes). Hence, the question is...why the chefs are angry about this?
3. If Ciel is not free now, so do they. Why they have the time to complain the stolen leftover? According to point 2, what make them to come here angrily should be the loss of ingredients, not the products. Once they don't have the ingredients, they are like losing the money. Rio is not so silly that he steals the leftover if he is really the culprit. (please see ep 12-16, he always commits in the daytime.
How Toei answer these questions? They only answer the first question as...Elysio's control.

Bibury goes to KiraPati for informing Precure...her doing is similar to ep 32.

Actually, the town people don't have much reaction on her residence...and I don't think Bibury is really worried about this.
It is the time for Ciel behaving like a elder sister. She has to defend for Rio-kun, esp. he is not the culprit.
Sorry for disturbing you, Ciel...but you all should not gather on the street, even Rio-kun runs away. KKPC should be in Ciel shop to see the happening...
At this moment, both parties are finding Rio-kun.
The happening here is that the victims are running after Rio, and Ciel runs after them to stop them finding Rio...but the location is still not to be here. It should be somewhere near the shop, otherwise no one look after the shop.
Anyway, the senior group sense the commitment is fishy.
As Ciel is Rio's sister, she definitely know where he hide.
Rio: I am guilty....and the people can't forgive me...
Rio-kun, you don't need to worry about the people, they forget everything. Moreover, talking about your crime...it is way less than Phantom...because Precure are doing the same thing. (taking kirakiraru from others.)
Ciel: Let's go somewhere and live together!
Rio: How about your shop? This is your dream!
Ciel: but I don't want to leave you alone!
Rio knows what she thinks. he doesn't want her to give up her dream because of him.
As it is a good close up on him, I quickly show the difference of the hair colour. Currently, his skyblue hair colour collides his hairband colour. If his hair is in darker colour, the collision won't be happened. (but actually I don't suggest Rio is long-haired)
Rio: Please let me off. It is hard on me to be with you. Are you going to throw me into darkness again?
As what we know Rio now, he doesn't mean as what he said. This part portrays his thought towards Ciel very well.
You see...Rio x Himari is really possible. Her concern towards Rio-kun doesn't lose to Ciel.
Himari: Pekorin, can you watch him secretly? I am worried of his condition.
Both parties just go somewhere (Ciel goes back to her shop) and think how to solve the theft problem...
At this moment, Rio thinks of leaving the town for Ciel's dream, but Ciel thinks how to make him stay with her.
Pekorin comes back for reporting her follow.
Pekorin: He leaves the waffle on Lumiere's altar peko.
Dame dayo (You can't), Pekorin. You can't take the offering out.
Ciel: What? he makes it for Lumiere? but it is the offering, right?
Well, this action can't lead to his leave, because he has to thank Lumiere after the last battle.
As Ciel is his twin sister, she can sense Rio's whereabout. How she catches Rio-kun is replied to the beginning scene, when Kirarin wakes Pikario up.

His guilt to Ciel is very heavy...
but Ciel's love to Rio-kun is not that weak. She even shares her dream with him.
Ciel: Let's run the shop together in Strawberry Town!
Rio: What are you talking about? I had been Noir's cadre before!
It doesn't matter, Rio. We have Bibury now.
Ciel: We can make miracle like Cure Parfait!
That Cure Parfait isn't that miracle...it is a forced plot actually...but running the shop together is possible.
Rio: Um...it's true.
At the end, the shopkeepers have to apologise to Rio-kun.
Aoi is inspired by their infinite dream. How she pursue her rock dream? We have to see next ep.
In my opinion, when talking about the observation and inspiration, I think Himari's development should be the next ep. She should be ep 42 instead of 43.
What is Himari's ep? It is "The hidden taste is courage! Himari's future recipe!". The reason of this is that she observes the siblings more closely than other members.
**FIGHT THE VILLAIN**
How Rio-kun's problem is solved. It won't be solved by itself. We have cat and dog member, so they can trace the culprit with the help of crystal animal.
Chocolat: It's really look exactly like Rio-kun.
How can it be? Elysio, didn't you work with him before? (Ah...he didn't really) Julio doesn't look like this! In ep 40, he is also in Julio look (only the hair colour is different):

Metamorphosis? You are not PC5! After HaCha, this time is PC5? You can be Phantom's friend (as a Precure Otaku)
but his final look is Saint Seiya....are you one of the Hades member?
Since this guy can fly (because of the cloth), even Whip uses her "powerful" Whip Step Jump with Macaron and Chocolat (it's meaningless as Precure is gifted to have powerful high jump)...
They are knocked down eventually.
then let Parfait, who can fly, deal with this Hades member.
About Rio-kun, he uses up Cure Lumiere gifted power...unless he collects the fragments, he can't change to Cure Waffle at this moment.
Therefore, he only can watch Parfait fighting against his former colleague (so-called) as an audience. (Why they don't even have any conversation?)
Despites of that, Rio-kun, you are not watching FIFA...(his expression does like watching soccer match)Your sister fights against Elysio very hard...
Parfait has better attack effect than other members, so when come to her ep, the battle usually looks better. Her ribbon attack is more colourful and practical than the cream attack, honestly.
Lastly, they need to sell the mode elegant again. Elysio can't become Saint anymore.
**Cook the Waffle**
This ep is about Rio-kun. Waffle is the main dish in this ep. How to cook Waffle? You can refer to Pegasus Parfait Recipe.
How Ciel decorates the Pegasus Parfait onto the Waffle is much better than Toei's product...they should show the recipe of this kind of Pegasus Parfait.
If you want to pursue Rio-kun's Waffle, this is the taste reference.
Chef: What a meticulous and gentle taste.
It is abstractive, right? Meticulous can be done by precise measure during the cooking. How about gentle taste? Um...it is related to the texture of Waffle, not too soft, crispy but not too hard, I think this is what the chef describes.

Lastly, they need to sell the mode elegant again. Elysio can't become Saint anymore.

How Ciel decorates the Pegasus Parfait onto the Waffle is much better than Toei's product...they should show the recipe of this kind of Pegasus Parfait.
