This year's CN Tower climb = fail. I kinda wish Silverberg was still supervising this event. Unfortunately, Rundle took over. Mistake #1... this year, we have to take public transit to the CN Tower while she drives her own car. Mistake #2, she set a vague meeting place. A salmon sculpture pond... a better description would have been, the pond in front of the CN Tower. Mistake #3, it took us roughly one hour to get down there by bus + RT + subway... how can we make it there before her and wait half an hour before she arrives?! Mistake #4, wrong meeting place. We had to go back to Union Station to hand in forms and get authorization from the people working there. Well I guess that covers all of the things Rundle messed up on. Last year, we took a school bus and made it there in very good time. Our school was one of the first to start climbing. That allowed for shorter lines, less people clogging up the stairs, and less elevator line up. So the goal I had for today, as everyone did, was to get a better time then the previous year(s). Did I achieve my goal? no... *cries ><* I was actually 2 minutes slower then last year... 27 minutes 6 seconds... and for some reason, there was a lot of condensation gathering as people were reaching the top. I first noticed when everybody's shoes were making squeeking noises against the metal stairs. Then a girl and I nearly slipped... everything was wet. The metal stairs, the nasty hand rail I thought was contaminated with sweat, and even the walls! When I reached the top, I actually didn't feel like hurling! The water still tasted nasty... but given what I had to go through in the past 27 minutes, it was like the sweet necture from the gods. The top was stuffed with people. I guess the people operating hte elevators were slacking or something... because I know it takes roughly 40 seconds to get from the top to the bottom and back. If it can accomidate about a dozen people, those two elevators could have easily cleared that room. The had a DJ this year instead of people giving you a survey. Most important part of this little excursion... the t-shirt!! This year's colour is red!! Much better then last years green shirt... kinda wish I attended the years when it was black or dark blue. It's 6:00 and I just got home... no coat, no bag, no agenda... everything I usually carry around and all my Day 1 + 3 stuff is at school. Bah... so was today a success or a failure? I'd say for the most part, a failure. Rundle really needs to do better as the supervising teacher and I really need to start working out... I'm way out of shape. Before I end, there is one part on the CN Tower climb form I should point out. It clearly says "It is recommended that you excercise at least 3 times a week" ...umm... I haven't excercised for the last 3 years!! ^^;;
