So, New Years resolutions. Mine is always to check my email more regularly, and this year we're going for it again. (Actually that is a secondary resolution, and my first one no more gossiping, but anyway.)

New strategy. No more skimming through the inbox and picking which ones to delete, which ones to read, and which ones to guiltily avoid until "later." Just open the first one, and deal with it directly. Most of them will probably be delete-able anyway, but I won't be able to avoid the ones I want to avoid, because I won't know they're coming until BAM OH NO THEY ARE OPEN.

Also, create more folders to shoves things off into. First New Folder of the New Year: "old email you should deal with eventually." This sounds like a cop-out, but no, hear me out: now my inbox is empty. My resolution is to keep it that way, and deal with everything NEW as it comes in. And on days when I feel especially heroic, I can go work through a couple pages of my shameful past as a separate side-project that does not affect my inbox.
