I suppose it's elitist or something? But when I'm reading political literature and there are typos and grammar errors and it's structured badly, it really makes me side-eye the whole thing. Like, if you can't proof-read properly, if you can't organize your ideas clearly, then how can I trust you to have done your research and to really know what you're talking about? It's really disappointing when they make some good points and you want to get behind them.
