I am on a mission. I have finally, finally sorted my messy stacks of comics, fished out all the Superboys and all the relevant cross-overs he participated in, and I am now going to read them all in chronological order, in hopes that I will finally be able to make sense of wtf is even going on with him.
I am hampered by the fact that half my comics are still back in Minnesota, alas. And it's the early ones, too, which are probably more important? *sigh* But I'll see what story summaries there are online to work with, too, and if it comes to it I will buy the damn things again. (Asking my mom to send them to me never seems to work, because she is confused by comics and insists she doesn't understand what I'm asking for. Ah well.)
But where doing this, where making this happen. Because I am going to reclaim my Kon from this mess; I am going to construct a head-canon that will make this noise meaningful again. But in order to do that I have to get over my frustrated apathy and actually figure out what canon-canon thinks it's doing.
