I. Finished. A painting.
It's not great. I'm not thrilled. But I finished it. I could put it up at the hot-chocolate shop where I go and they let local artists have little shows.
I could. Start something else and have TWO things.
Now I just need to figure out how to get a picture. I tried scanning but that's awful; it reflects all wrong

The colors are a pain, but the way light reflects and glares off the paint is even worse because there's no Photoshopping out big white spots.
It's pretty much just a stylized cloud study--I've got a sort of system for clouds when I keep them as just flat outlines or cut-out shapes, but I want to be able to paint them in full color with shading and all. I'm not actually thrilled with this one, but I feel like I learned alot from it and other people often like work even when I'm not pleased with it, and at least I don't hate it so much that I'm discouraged from doing more. I'm actually eager to try again, which is the best reaction to have.

Also, when you CAN do them well... I've seen some gorgeous art and it makes me jealous.
When I was a teenager I was really focused and committed to practicing things I was bad at; I remember doing all sorts of face studies at different angles from a mirror. For all that I'm way better than I was then, I miss having that drive.
