More art; a class assignment and an abandoned HP sketch.

We broke into groups to make up our own setting for the models, and today was our day. My group decided to let me be bossy, and so I had the model sitting upside down in the chair. There were socks and bottles and grapes and stuff, but that's all off screen. The bottle that she's holding was actually her idea, but it was really cool and fit, so yeah. The whole set-up looked like the morning after of some Roman orgy ^^;

And, HP. Sirius and Bellatrix. I want to like this, because I loved the idea, but there are spatial issues that just won't resolve themselves. It really bothers me how much blank space that couch makes, it ruins the balance. Also, I have this vague feeling that Sirius ought to be bigger in relation to it, but I couldn't make it feel right. I'll probably do something else with a similar feel, but with a totally different set-up.

It's really messed up how much I love Bellatrix. I mean, she killed my favorite character, and also is evil, and I usually roll my eyes at people who love the evil characters. And yet, I just. It's not even that I love to hate her; I just love her. At least part of it is that she's one of the stronger female characters from the books; she's not going to wait around for her man to slaughter the mudbloods, she wants a piece for herself. She's evil but she's not some stereotypical temptress or a hag; she's a Death Eater, and my impression anyway was that she was one of the big ones. When they said that some of Voldemort's followers were almost as bad as him, I think she was on that list.

I like to imagine that she terrorized Sirius for most of his childhood and totally got off on it, too. That he was terrified of her until he grew up and could hold his own in a duel, and that even then he liked to keep a good distance.
