This crosstalk seriously took ages... and it's so large that I had to split it into two parts. I was really busy over the holidays, and I've never seen ABC Za~! so I'm not completely certain about the details of some parts. Noeru is seriously the most difficult Johnnys to translate! Haha so if anyone finds any mistakes, please let me know! I did my best though, so hopefully everyone can understand the gist of it and enjoy~~ ♡

Shimekake Ryuya x Kawashima Noeru x Teranishi Takuto x Hara Yoshitaka x Moritsugu Ryota x Meguro Ren
While mutually encouraging one another, they were able to challenge their dancing skills in the stage play.
Yoshitaka: This year’s [ABC Za] will be over after two more shows (Interview was conducted on October 27th). Although we haven’t really had the opportunity to work together until now, this time we all have lines, so day by day we’ve been working through trial and error towards our goals.
Noeru: In the first place it’s hard to put the 6 of us together for work, but I feel like we’ve been able combine our power together in a good way. Instead of processing what happened on stage after going home, telling each other things like “Isn’t it good if you do it this way” helps improve ourselves. Exploring new ideas every day is interesting right.
Ryuya: Not only do we receive opinions from each other, but also of course from Nishikiori (Kazukiyo)-san, and from Soga (Yasuhisa)-san telling us things like “It’s better to respond to the other person’s lines”; we’ve received various pieces of advice.
Yoshitaka: And we’re really grateful for being taught throughout the course of the play.
Now that you mention it, everyone usually doesn’t trip over their lines right. Ah, except for Shimekake (laugh).
Ryuya: I seriously trip over my lines a lot (bitter laugh). It’s really mortifying, so I practice a lot every day in order to not stumble, and yet it still ends up happening.
Yoshitaka: Well well, that would make you feel down, right.
Ren: But we don’t usually try to cheer him up right (laugh).
Ryuya: Yeah, since it’s my own problem.
Ryota: However, we’ve been taught a lot since the start of the play, so it’s probably just because there are places where you are overthinking things.
Noeru: That is probably it. Since Tera (Teranishi) has been in a drama, do you think there’s a big difference between that and how you act in a play?
Takuto: Yeah, it's certainly completely different. Since the camera comes up close to your face, there's a feeling of having to always be staring at the main character. In a stage play though, Meguro is the one who told me this but, first you have to make sure your voice is properly conveyed before being getting caught up on the face… Even though Meguro is actually my kouhai (laugh).
Ren: Ahaha!
Takuto: But, since it was pointed out to me that if my voice is not loud it won’t be heard from far away, I feel that I’ve improved during the play.
Nishikiori-san’s personal laugh and Learning from A.B.C.-Z backstage
Ryuya: Of course during practice, but also during the real performances we seriously learn a ton. That’s why even if we don’t appear in a scene, we’re still always watching our senpai’s work.
Ren: As the end of the play is approaching, our movements remain the same but I feel like our own patterns during the show have improved. As the performances build up, every day we try to put a new spin on the way we say our lines during the parts we appear in. We take our own risks. Everybody has their own way that they do that, right.
Noeru: That’s true. The strong point of this play is that there is a lot of laughter, so there is a feeling of changing it up day by day. If it feels like we’re just repeating things again, the audience won’t laugh as much.
Ren: That type of changing up the reaction, we’ve been able to grasp it right.
Ryota: Even though we received laughter yesterday, today is different; something like that.
Noeru: During the same day, the reaction will be different in the morning compared to at night.
Takuto: And during the times when we don’t receive laughter…
Ren: We feel down right (bitter laugh).
Noeru: But, at that point Nishikiori-san came and watched after the real performance had begun, and changed some of the words to make them more interesting. That’s why, surprisingly, the play changes a lot from the opening day.
Ryota: For real. And Nishikiori-san came and watched today too.
Yoshitaka: Even when we’re standing on stage, we can hear Nishikiori-san laughing!
Ren: That raises our motivation. Now that I’m thinking about it, unexpectedly when we hear his laughter, the performing environment probably becomes a lot easier.
Yoshitaka: In regards to A.B.C.-Z, they’re the type where we simply watch their backs. Rather than telling us a lot of different things, if feels more like a “keep on watching us” stance.
Ryuya: That’s why, I’m always stealing glances.
Ren: Me too. There are different times where we watch each of them individually right.
Takuto: There are, there are.
Noeru: Meguro is always watching our senpai’s performance really seriously right, even during practice.
Ren: Because I thought I want to see various things. But that sort of thing is a secret (laugh). But also, sometimes during practice, Totsuka (Shota)-kun was participating in other work, and I had to act as his substitute. Having that many lines as a junior doesn’t happen, so I learned a lot and received a valuable experience.
Ryuya: Me too, I had to substitute for Goseki (Kouchi)-kun, but it was really tough! Having that many lines!
Yoshitaka: While watching our senpai’s acting during the real performance, we think various things like “If it were me, how would I say or do things,” so it becomes a big learning experience.
The dressing room that understands Kawashima’s “Noeru-tteru”
Takuto: Whether it’s during practice or the real performance, speaking of memorable episodes, Noeru puts everything into it. This time I became able to fully understand the rumored word on the street about “Noeru-tteru” (laugh). Yesterday too, the usual things that would make one suffer, he doesn’t suffer from at all… Since we’re talking about this, regarding Noeru’s never ending laughter and the way he talks, “was Noeru really this kind of human” is what I thought.
Everyone: (Bursts out laughing)!
Noeru: Since the impression I leave is like this, aren’t I an amazing guy (laugh)?
Ryota: In Noeru’s situation, everything that he thinks from his heart will come out his mouth right (laugh).
Ryuya: Moreover, even down to the minor details, everything comes out (laugh).
Ryota: For example, suddenly he’ll just yell, “Aah~ isn’t being alive happiness~!” or things like that. Even though he wasn’t talking to anyone (laugh). And, during times when everyone is extremely tired, “Being tired means that you’re alive, and being alive is a magnificent thing!” he’ll say.
Ryuya: He connects everything to happiness.
Ren: And that is “Noeru-tteru.”
Noeru: But I think that life is really fun~! You don’t think that!?
Takuto: It appeared it appeared (laugh)!
Ryuya: I’m in Travis Japan together with him, so from the start I knew about “Noeru-tteru.” I figured if it started again this time, I’ll have to apologize to everyone (laugh).
Yoshitaka: Nah it’s alright, “Noeru-tteru” has been a popular phrase within the Jrs this year. Everyone has started using it (laugh). Since me, Meguro, Teranishi, and Moritsugu are normally together a lot, on the other hand how do you two see the four of us?
Noeru: If I start opening up, I’ll end up talking non-stop as always.
Ren: But Shime always stops you halfway through right.
Ryota: Since it’s long-awaited, I really want to hear your impressions of us.
Noeru: Then, I’ll talk honestly. We hardly have had the chance to work together as the 6 of us. If I had to say my impression, then it would be that Shime and I have acted a lot in plays like “Playzone”, but you four seem to have done a lot of concerts. Therefore, even though Shime and I haven’t done things like getting the audience excited, I think I had ambition regarding this stage play. At the beginning I had the intention of us not losing to you guys, but everyone respectively had the desire of doing a stage play properly and seriously, and no one had the attitude of “let’s just get it over with” or anything of that sort of level; I received that hardworking impression on the first day of practice. And even in the dressing room or during intermission, you guys would do things like muscle training, so I’ve learned from how you respectively do things and each personally have the posture of challenging what comes next on stage…
Takuto: You learned from us (laugh)?
Yoshitaka: That makes us happy right~.
Ryuya: Now that I think about it, hasn’t it been 4 years since we’ve worked together with you four?
Ren: Has it been that long!
Ryuya: For real, it’s been such a long time since being with you four, but in regards to dance and everything else, you’ve really leveled up, so honestly I was really surprised.
Ryota: I don’t really have any self-awareness of that though… Probably everyone else doesn’t realize how we change either right?
Ren: Yeah, I just make sure I’m absolutely giving it my all. But from us, too, you two are amazing. Like Noeru-kun, during practice he’s always leaping full out. Since long ago you still always properly stretch so you can do acrobatics, that sort of thing hasn’t changed, which is a sort of relief.
Noeru: Saying that makes me happy. How do the four of you see each other?
Ren: Whether it's dancing or during a play, individually everyone’s various thoughts are in harmony, and we all have different reliable areas rights.
Yoshitaka: Even in addition to that, we’ve been together for so long that things like practice go really smoothly. We all understand each other really well.
Ryota: That’s why there’s not usually a lot of talking.
Takuto: Even if we don’t talk, we can understand what the others are thinking.
Ren: But we do have a good relationship, we do talk!
Ryota: Ah, in the dressing room even if no one is talking, the atmosphere won’t feel bad, and there’s harmony (laugh). Besides, this time, because Shime and Noeru are there, we can feel at ease.
Noeru: Being with these members is a fun thing!
Ryuya: It’s begun again~ (laugh).
Cherishing the fact that each person stands on stage during the play
Yoshitaka: In my case, I do a lot of back dancing work. More or less, even if my tension falls, it can’t be discerned by the audience. But during a stage play, that sort of thing will come out. Since I’ve learned that, this time, even if I’m just dancing I want to properly enjoy it myself. I’ve gained that renewed way of thinking.
Ryuya: It’s important to enjoy it yourself, right. For the sake of that this time, before the performances started I would stretch, and even though in the end I would always slip up (bitter laugh) I would practice my lines every day. I always complete my routine to the utmost so that I can present myself in my best condition.
Noeru: I had that kind of thinking too. Before the real thing I decided on what things I needed to do before each show. No matter what stage play I’m acting in, it’s like that, but this time I think I’m especially aware of my personal maintenance.
Ryota: For me, I’ll rehearse through the entire thing once in my mind. I think of various things like “I should do that part like this.”
Yoshitaka: It's a good thing to be aware of that, but also during a stage play the management of your physical condition is something to be aware of.
Ren: Since the season is going to get a lot a colder soon right. For me, I think I want to forget the feeling of simply doing each performance as usual. However, since there is going to be a filmed DVD of this, I hope that I don’t have any sudden nervousness.
Takuto: In regards to the production that will be filmed, I’m keeping in mind what performance I want to remember and how I can make myself stand out. Since I want to appear a little different from other times, whether it’s acting or dancing, it’d be good if I can portray my own color.
Ryota: Even if you say that, Tera, it’s not just a “little” right (laugh).
Yoshitaka: The way you appear, you’re always changing it right (laugh).
Ren: You’ve done things in various ways right.
Ryuya: I’ve already stolen the way you change things up (laugh).
Takuto: Seriously!? Even though I’ve confessed it here, I was too slow (laugh)?
Everyone: Ahahaha!
Ryota: If we’re talking about dance, Tera has a lot of charming mannerisms. I’m the reverse; I have to try to not to use bad mannerisms. In that way, to be able to show who I really am, I want to dance beautifully.
Ryuya: I have short stature, so while being aware of creating a large presence for myself, on top of that I want my own personality to shine through.
Yoshitaka: My dance fixation is that during the songs, I want my facial expressions to change. During the fun times I want to look enjoyable, and during the cool times I want to be impeccable… Like the image Kawai (Fumito)-kun has. I want to show that gap.
Noeru: I see. For me, until now I’ve done each song while being aware of putting forth all of my effort. But this time, during Act II of the show, I want things to run smoothly. So I want to watch A.B.C.-Z during the performance and become aware of any of my own movements that aren’t necessary. In that part there’s a song that’s very enchanting, so in order to be as enchanting as possible I’m going to save some of my energy and then let out 120% of my power.
Takuto: Since I like the dancing parts anyways, I’m going to be aware of keeping that good feeling. In that way, I think I want to hold onto the dance that I like and go with that.
Ren: Earlier Tera mentioned, “In order to stand out.” When we’ve back danced for a senpai’s concert he also said something like “I want to stand out, even if just a little.” But in a stage play, sometimes it’s when everyone is matching well that it looks cool and you stand out. We’ve learned a lot about how to successfully use these different ways, I think.
Noeru: It was definitely a stage play in which I noticed and learned various things.
Ryota: I’ve been thinking that I want to use these experiences in the next work that I do. At the end of the Act II there’s a ton of hard dance moves, and the shortness of breath is terrible.
Takuto: that’s right!
Noeru: Even though at first we were told that we wouldn’t appear in Act II right?
Ryota: We were allowed to receive what’s fitting of Johnny’s Jrs.
Ryuya: Even though it’s like that, the performance has a feeling of everything coming together well.
Yoshitaka: I want to make the most of this experience, and hurry up and go to the next stage right.
Everyone: That’s right!
