1. 3 gratitudes--list three new things that you're grateful for each day.
2. Journaling--write about one positive thing that happened in the past 24 hours each day
3. Exercise
4. Meditation--teaches you to focus on the task at hand, to be in the now
5. Random acts of kindness--perform one each day (I think he said first thing, and he gave an example of sending an e-mail praising a colleague, but I guess in your personal life, you can be more creative than
Hi. Sorry for the cheesy title. But I actually love the energy of that song, especially as performed by the Glee cast (hope you're doing okay in the other world, Cory Monteith). And I REALLY NEED TO HEAR IT RIGHT NOW! *sob* So put up with me, please, dear readers.
Many stuffs have happened to me since I posted. Work got super-busy, and I went on vacation, and returning to work was pretty hellish, causing me to consider Never Taking Vacation Again, Ever. And now I'm reading books about divorce, which is just...so...awful. It's like a million devils dancing on my head. Or in my head, which is the whole truth of it. Out, negative thinking, out!!
So I need very much to do one of these.
Three gratitudes
1. I'm grateful for how when I get back into bed after getting up to pee, the sheets are sooooo warm! So warm I had to take my socks off.
2. I'm grateful for a roof over my head and food on the table.
3. I'm grateful for kindly people, no matter how far away. As long as they are in the galaxy, I draw strength from their kindness.
Hahaha...watching Battle Star Galactica and reading Seeker by Jack McDevitt makes me tend to go galactic. My son introduced me to these two works, and I think he's really tickled he made some recommendations I'm enjoying.
Anyway, I'm chanting every day, and that does a lot of the same work as meditation. I sure need it, with my head taking frequent trips to Insane Worry World.
A good thing happened: I found my keys in my car!! So I could get into my office this morning!! Yay! Because getting here early and not being able to get in might have felt like Futility.
Oooo I also have a couple of regular acts of kindness things I'm doing, and they feel great :)
Anyway, I firmly believe that this time will pass and that things will be better. I hope all of you out there are doing well and cherishing your loved ones and your irresistible obsessions and the sterling things about your own characters. Kisses.
