For My IDP Project~

This is Beef Curry :D
What was used to make this! (recipe serves 8)
((there are 6 people in my family and so we just made for eight...))
  • Around 2lbs Beef
  • I used a half an onion (should have used a whole -__-;)
  • 2lbs potatoes, (32oz) cut up into smaller pieces
  • 14oz of carrots (can use baby carrots or slice up large carrots)
  • 3-4 garlic cloves
  • 3tbs of curry powder (add more if want spicier)
  • 12 tbs of flour
  • 8oz of canned tomatoes
  • 5 cups of water
  • 4 tbs of canola oil
  • 2 tbs salt
STEPS!!~
We're gonna step and go!~
  1. Step one: Prepare the ingredients :) That means;
  2. Slice the onions and garlic cloves thinly; peel the potatoes and cut them into smaller cubes; cut carrots (unless they are baby carrots, then you can just leave them) and cut beef into bite size pieces [Make Some Rice]
  3. Get a pot or pan ready and put 2tbs of canola oil in; add beef&garlic; fry until beef is done
  4. When the beef is done cooking add all potato and carrot pieces and fry for a few minutes; sprinkle salt&pepper on top and mix.
  5. Afterwords add canned tomatoes & water; bring to a boil; when it comes to a boil let it, for around 20 min. on medium heat
  6. [In a separate pan] while panA is going to be coming to a boil; put int 2tbs of canola oil and start frying the onions until they turn a brownish color (this wont take long)
  7. A little bit at a time (like a spoonful at a time) start adding the flour to the onions while stirring (over a low flame)
  8. Then remove the flour/onion pan from the heat and add/mix in the curry powder
  9. panB(flour/onion) should be ready to add to the then boiling panA; let it boil for 20 min. over a low flame; add 1tbs of salt (if you want) and stir
  10. The curry should thicken and soon be ready to serve over the rice :D

Cooking Experience:D .//Reflection [IDP]
This recipe was farely easy to make but didn't have enough onion, that's OK though XD The end product turned out great and my older brother and I deided to have a cook off on the weekends >:D All ingredients were easy to find in a store (Target ^-^;)  and/or in the pantry. I think that we did not use a big enough pan we should use a pot next time! all in all it was a good and fun experience and my next recipe I hope to be more difficult :)
