Well, well...!
I can't believe its been over a year since I wrote here. At some point, this journal was such a big part of my life, and every single thing happening in my life was so detailed!
I had to restore it somehow, but make it new. As you'll probably see, all previous entries have been deleted; all 157 of them. The past is the past, and my life has changed so much since my last entry that I had to start from scratch again.
I finished my travel sales course last June, after spending a wonderful year and a lovely Carnival Cruise field trip in the Caribbean (Bahamas, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and Turks & Caicos). I found the most wonderful of jobs, and I have now been working in downtown Montreal full-time for two months, for the travel wholesaler Holiday House (which is a Canadian part of the UK company MyTravel :) ). I am happy to say that I wish to work there for the rest of my life.
I am still dating my darling Antoine; I knew when I met him that at last I had found a man with whom I had greater hopes. After Aaron, I have to admit my love life had been ridiculously hectic, and I regret my lack of judgment back then. It has caused great hurt to 6 nice guys and its something I'll never forgive myself. This is a thing of the past too now though, and I'm proud to say that on January 16 Antoine and I will be celebrating our 2nd year together :)
There's been many more things that happened since a year, both good and bad. I've made friends, and lost some. I had a few jobs, all in video stores (which I loved, and where I met loads of wonderful people, and watched loads of really awesome movies). Above everything, I have done a very resourceful trip to Shanghai, China last July, of which I keep the fondest of memories. This is all detailed on my website, but it has yet to be translated in english! If you are comfortable then french, though, feel free to enjoy the details of my 2 weeks trip :)
One major thing though is now surpassing everything, and that's the specific reason why I decided to give life back to this journal. Since september 22 of this year, I have been declared legally mute.
Doctors all thought it was spasmodic dysphonia at first, of which I had all due symptoms. However now my vocal cords are getting thinner and degenerating, so I have been formally forbidden to speak a word, in hope that if one day a cure is found for me, they are still able to function at all.
It's been though. It still is, and it will continue to be. And that's precisely why I'm reopening this journal; it has been strongly recommended by my doctor to keep some kind of place where I can write down my thoughts and communicate with people as easily as anyone else, in order to keep some sort of sanity.
I instantly knew internet was the ultimate option, and from there, it was easy to figure out what my next move was :)
It's good to be back :)
Love,
Wynter xox
