DiZ, Riku reflects, can be a real jackass at times.
Such as: he likes to do things alone. Riku gets that (Riku likes to do things alone, too, after all). But Riku has a vested interest in what’s going on, and doesn’t appreciate being sent away time after time with “I’m too busy right now,” or “You wouldn’t understand,” or “This is something I have to do.” Once or twice, he could put aside; once or twice a week, minimum, is really too much.
Such as: when DiZ finally does need Riku’s help, he gives orders and nothing else. No explanation for why Riku needs to take that particular crate from Tortuga and dump it in the Pride Lands. Nor does DiZ even give Riku background information, like the fact that that particular crate has six-legged creatures that will bite anything with extreme amounts of darkness in them. Or the fact that the crate is liable to bust open when he gets to the Pride Lands, due to the fact that he’ll have no hands to catch it when it falls. Those would have been nice things to know before he took the crate to the Pride Lands, had it bust open on him, and had to flee quickly before becoming lunch.
Such as: DiZ treats Riku as expendable. Whatever missions he sends Riku on (not the ones that Riku sends himself on, which tend to be nicely within his skill range and as long as he can possibly eke them out for) are bound to be the most dirty, disgusting, difficult, and thankless tasks that DiZ has sitting on his metaphorical desk. If they weren’t extremely dirty, disgusting, difficult, and/or thankless, DiZ would either do them himself or pass them on to the King. Riku has, no few amount of times, wondered if DiZ thinks that highly of Riku, or if DiZ simply hates Riku that much. So far, he hasn’t been able to figure out the answer.
This latest task that DiZ has assigned to Riku is neither dirty or disgusting, nor does it seem particularly hard. It’s actually very simple: “wait in this room.” The room is nice, if plain, with beige walls, a dark rug, and a desk. Riku doesn’t know what precisely the desk is for; when he first entered the room, he pulled open the drawers, and all but one of them was empty. That one, incidentally, was locked from the inside. Apparently DiZ really didn’t want Riku to open it, to take steps to prevent Riku from keyblading it when he can’t even (reliably) summon a keyblade.
The door is similarly locked from the other side. The hinges are also on that side, and there are no windows in this room. Riku has nothing better to do than sit with his back against a wall, stare at the door, and hope that DiZ isn’t stupid enough to try to suffocate Riku. There’s no block on Corridors of Darkness here, at least none that Riku can sense, and besides, Riku likes to think that either Naminé or Mickey would come get him before he died.
In a short amount of time - long enough for Riku’s legs to get that pins-and-needles sensation, but just barely - a Corridor opens in the middle of the room. Riku stands, expecting DiZ (or Mickey or Naminé), but jerks back when he sees who it is.
“...Oh, great,” Axel says, looking as surprised as Riku feels, “rerouted again.”
Riku frowns, trying and failing to understand that statement, and asks, “What are you doing here?”
Axel raises an eyebrow. “Nothing. I just said I was rerouted. I’ll just be leaving-” and he turns to do that.
Only, right then, a barrier on Corridors of Darkness slams into place.
Riku winces at the sudden feeling of being cut off, and Axel flinches as his Corridor dissipates.
“...Or not,” he says after a moment.
Riku snorts. “Two for the price of one,” he mutters sourly.
Axel looks at him oddly. “What?”
Riku shrugs. “We’ll both suffocate.”
Axel looks alarmed for a second - Riku briefly wonders how a Nobody can be so expert at mimicking emotions - then closes his eyes. After a moment, he shakes his head. “Nah, there’s enough air in here.”
“How do you know?” Riku asks with a frown.
“Trick a colleague taught me,” Axel says shortly, turning away and seeming to investigate the desk.
Riku wracks his brain for a moment, then asks, “Xaldin?”
“No. Demyx.”
Reply
“There’s something in here,” Axel says after a few moments of examining the locked drawer.
“Oh, really? I thought people just left empty drawers locked all the time,” Riku replies, voice heavy with sarcasm.
Axel rolls his eyes. “Ha, ha. Tried opening it yet?”
“Yeah. Couldn’t, not without pulling the whole thing apart.”
Axel nods, and Riku suddenly realizes that he’s collaborating with the enemy. There’s nothing else he can do, though, besides try to fight Axel.
Riku’s made a point, lately, of not starting fights he can’t win. And he doesn’t think he can win against Axel - at least, not yet.
Several minutes later, Axel’s found a way into the locked drawer: by carefully burning the drawer next to it, after tipping the desk over so that whatever’s in the drawer slides to the other side. It’s a little awkward, but better than just sitting around or trying to disassemble the thing.
Riku waits, curiosity once again getting the better of him, while Axel fishes out the object that had been locked away. When he pulls it out, Riku frowns. It’s a simple black container, with circular holes.
“What...?” he starts to say, when Axel suddenly jerks and tosses it away.
“Shit,” the redhead curses, backing away from it. From his gestures, he’s also trying to make a corridor and escape, but the barrier’s still in place.
“What is it?” Riku asks, increasingly disturbed by the Nobody’s behavior. If he didn’t know better, he would say that Axel’s acting scared.
Axel looks at him, and the Nobody’s face is surprisingly pale. It takes him several moments, but finally he asks, “Ever heard of an aphrodisiac?”
Riku pauses, thinking, then shakes his head. “Not that I can remember. That’s what it is?”
Axel nods, and Riku waits for him to explain. When he doesn’t, Riku prompts him.
“And an aphrodisiac is...?”
Axel makes a face. “A drug that turns you on.”
Riku stares at him. “Turns you on as in...?”
“Are you always this thick?” is the exasperated reply. “Yes, as in makes you want to have sex. You can thank your DiZ for this.”
Riku glares at him, but doesn’t have a rebuttal for that. It is DiZ’s fault, and now he’s stuck with the situation. Now he knows why he’s stuck with this, though: things are heading in a direction that’s both dirty and disgusting, if not difficult, to DiZ.
...Not that it’s not like that for Riku, too.
“No secret ways out, huh?” Axel asks after several more moments. He glances at Riku when he says it, and Riku shakes his head.
“The room’s not airtight, at least,” Riku offers.
Axel laughs. “It doesn’t have to be. There’re at least three more of those in the desk, and who knows what the hell is actually in them. If it’s potent enough...”
Riku shudders. “Right.”
Axel raises an eyebrow at him, and Riku almost flushes at the critical, almost contemptuous look on his face. Of course, part of that almost-flush is embarrassment, but most is anger, because really, what gives Axel the right to hold Riku in contempt?
And then Axel says, “You’re kind of a prude, aren’t you?” and that explains where the contempt comes from.
Riku does flush at that, but glares as well. “So?”
Axel shakes his head. “Does the old man hate you or something?”
“No. I work for him.”
“I work for Xemnas,” Axel points out, “and if he could hate me, he probably would.”
Riku snorts. “Things are different for people who have hearts.”
Axel doesn’t look hurt at that, like Riku expected him to. Instead, he just shrugs. “If you say so. Seems like the guy’s got it out for you, though. Why else throw an aphrodisiac in a room with a prude?”
Riku has to admit that he has a point. Instead of acknowledging that, though, he just turns around, arms over his chest.
Reply
“Stop trying to think. You’ll just hurt your head.”
Riku whirls, and finds himself inches from Axel, who laughs as Riku backs up a few steps.
Riku glares. “Shut up.”
“It’s true. It’ll only get worse, too.”
Riku rolls his eyes. “Yeah, right.”
Axel just looks at him, like Riku’s some kind of dimwit.
“...What?”
“You’re full of yourself, too. Prudish and arrogant. Nice combination.”
“I am not!” Riku immediately protests. He used to be arrogant; he’s gotten over that.
“Sure, sure. Not arrogant or prudish at all. Let me guess: you’ve also been laid tons of times, and you’ve been tailing Roxas because you want his autograph. Am I right?”
Riku flushes, glaring at Axel again. He doesn’t say anything, though - he doesn’t want to accidentally tell Axel more than the Nobody already knows about his interest in Roxas.
Besides, Axel’s right, and Riku doesn’t want to prove it.
His silence is proof enough, though, and Axel once again laughs at him.
After that, Axel wanders off to the desk, inspecting it again. Riku, meanwhile, sits down with his back to the wall again. He closes his eyes.
He can’t smell anything different, but he knows next to nothing about aphrodisiacs; this one could be odorless, or so faint that, by now, it might as well be odorless.
He opens his eyes, just a bit, to look at Axel. The Nobody is bent over, looking at some part of the desk, and Riku swallows hard, closing his eyes tight. Even given the fact that he really can’t be blamed for his current libido, thinking about - about anything even concerning sex is weird for him. He’s been too busy, from fifteen on, to think about that stuff. The worlds, Kairi, Sora - all that comes before trivial things like his sex life.
“Hey, kid.”
“Riku,” Riku responds automatically, not looking at Axel. Rather desperately not looking at Axel.
“Riku, whatever. Any idea why we’re stuck in here?”
Well, Axel seems to be cheerfully immune from the aphrodisiac. Or... Riku opens his eyes to mere slits, but can’t make out whether Axel has the same problem Riku’s experiencing.
“Riku?”
Riku shrugs. “Either to torture us or to get you out of the way.”
“Oh.” Axel sighs. “Out of the way for what?”
Riku smirks. “Even if I knew, why would I tell you?”
“Because we’re stuck here together. Because I can help you out.”
The last is softer, but from closer. Riku opens his eyes, and is once again inches from Axel, this time with no room to back up.
Riku swallows, hard. “Help me out?”
It’s Axel’s turn to smirk. “Yeah.”
Something about the smirk - maybe it’s the way Axel’s eyes go half-shut, or the fact that his hand is for some reason way too damn close to Riku’s thigh - makes Riku shiver and turn red at the same time. His mouth goes dry.
However, he’s still Riku, so he says, “Thanks, but no thanks,” and meets Axel’s eyes.
Axel laughs. “You sure? You might change your mind pretty quick.”
Riku smirks. “Yeah, I’m sure.”
Axel shrugs. “Whatever. We don’t get out soon, I might change your mind for you.” that said, he shifts so he’s sitting next to Riku.
Riku reflexively scoots away, and Axel lets him. He’s not sure what Axel means with the last statement, but Corridors of Darkness or no, he can always summon his sword. If need be, he’ll permanently remove Axel from the situation.
Reply
He’s tempted to change that opinion, though, when there’s hot breath on his neck.
Riku turns to glare at Axel...only to find the Nobody where he had originally sat down, too far away to breathe on Riku.
“Change your mind?” The question is perfectly neutral.
“No,” Riku says, facing away from Axel but keeping him in the corner of his eye.
Moments later, there’s hot breath on the back of his neck. He shivers. It has to be a hallucination. He wonders if aphrodisiacs can cause hallucinations. Axel hasn’t moved since he sat down.
Riku looks at one of the walls at the same time that Axel asks him if he’s okay.
Riku turns, frowning. “What?”
Axel shrugs. “Your face is red. Change your mind yet?”
Before Riku can answer, the feeling of hot breath on his neck returns, and Riku chokes down a gasp.
Axel raises an eyebrow.
“...Will that make all this go away?” Riku finally asks, mostly referring to the hallucinations.
Axel smirks. “Yeah.”
Riku considers, then relents. “Fine, sure.”
“You don’t sound sure.”
“I said fine.”
Axel laughs. “No need to get sulky, it was just a question.”
Before Riku can quip, Axel adds, “Come here.”
Reluctantly, Riku crawls over to him. When Riku stops at his side, Axel pulls the boy into his lap and kisses him.
Riku stiffens in shock, not expecting that at all, and it takes Axel grabbing the front of his shirt and physically pulling him closer for Riku to respond. When he does, he’s slow and hesitant.
When Axel pulls away, he gives Riku a look of disgust. “You really are a virgin, aren’t you?”
Riku doesn’t even need to answer; his blush and obvious inexperience say it all.
“Great, just great,” Axel mutters.
This doesn’t seem to stop him from kissing Riku again. Or from moving Riku’s legs until he’s straddling the Nobody’s lap, and then grinding his hips against Riku’s.
Riku moans into Axel’s mouth, knows that he sounds stupid, and tries determinedly not to care when he feels Axel smirk. He just has to get through this, and Axel’s just a means to an end.
A very helpful means to an end, Riku amends when Axel slips a hand under his shirt.
From there, Riku somehow manages to lose all of his clothes while Axel only unzips and pulls his down. Riku’s not quite sure how that works, or when that happens, other than sometime between when Axel starts kissing his neck and when Axel pulls his mouth away from Riku’s chest.
“Do you want the truth or the pretty lie?” Axel asks idly once Riku’s stripped.
Riku pauses. “Give me the truth.”
“This is going to hurt like a bitch. Open your mouth.”
Riku doesn’t immediately, so Axel wraps a hand around his length and pulls. Riku gasps, and Axel’s fingers go in.
“Just suck on them. Bite and I will make this very unpleasant.”
Riku nods, sucking on the fingers and somewhat aware of why he’s doing it - he’s not completely sheltered, after all. The hand that Axel keeps on his length, stroking him, certainly helps.
When Axel pulls his fingers out, Riku tenses, and Axel “tsk”s at him.
Reply
“Just relax...” Axel murmurs again as he slips a finger into Riku. “It gets better in a second...”
And it does. Oh fuck it does.
Riku whines when Axel finally pulls his fingers out, and Axel laughs. Riku’s almost annoyed at that - it seems like Axel laughs at him a lot - but can’t possibly be annoyed, he’s too busy dealing with the new sensation of having someone’s cock pressed against his ass. And after that, the cock’s in his ass, and that pretty much overrides silly things like annoyances.
It hurts at first, and Axel makes an offhand comment about lube, but it doesn’t hurt nearly as much as getting slammed into a ceiling and falling, or any number of other painful experiences that Riku can’t seem to recall right now but has definitely gone through. And none of those had been accompanied by the sensation of something slamming into his prostate.
“Hey, Riku?”
Riku blinks at Axel. “Yeah?”
“I’m gonna move you. Hold on a sec.”
Axel does move him, so his back is pressed against Axel’s chest.
“Why?”
“Easier.”
The speed picks up after that, which seems to mean Axel’s right. His free hand finds Riku’s cock and squeezes.
That’s really all it takes for orgasm to slam into Riku. He shudders when it does, and apparently it affects Axel, because not too long after that Axel comes as well.
Axel pulls Riku off of him, and Riku half-collapses against the wall.
“...Wow.”
Axel laughs again.
“You’re welcome.”
Riku looks at him. “Uh, thanks.”
“No problem.” Axel stands up, pulls his pants up, zips them and his coat, and looks down at Riku. Riku knows he must look like a mess, but doesn’t care right then.
“Seems like portals can work now...”
Riku closes his eyes, then nods. The barrier’s gone. “DiZ must be finished.”
“Must be.” Axel flashes a grin at Riku. “Gotta say, that almost made up for getting locked in here.”
Riku glares at him, and Axel’s grin grows.
“I’ll tell you something, kid, and blame it on the afterglow: never trust a guy who works for your enemy.”
“What?”
A Corridor of Darkness opens in front of Axel.
“Another piece of advice: assume that your enemy will lie to you.”
And then Axel walks out.
Luckily for Riku, another corridor opens, and Naminé steps through. She doesn’t even blush when she sees what state he’s in.
“DiZ will be here soon,” she tells him.
Riku blanches and hurriedly starts to dress.
Naminé doesn’t even bother turning around. “I erased the footage, so don’t worry about that.”
Riku pauses, looking at her.
“From the cameras,” she adds. He continues to stare. “In here? I disabled them too, before I came here.”
“Thanks, Naminé. You’re a lifesaver.”
She smiles. “You’re welcome. DiZ will probably be angry. He was looking forward to reviewing your fight with Axel.”
Riku blinks. “My...fight?”
“Yes. That’s why he had you come here.”
“So there was no...?”
“No. Axel lied.”
Riku tugs his shoes on, feeling like an idiot. Even more than when Maleficent had taken him in. He should know better by now.
“He’s very good at it, though,” Naminé offers.
Riku only nods and steps through the portal.
Naminé sighs and follows him.
