That would be me... burned that is. Went white water rafting yesterday and came back looking like a lobster with a shiner.
So the burn is easy to explain... sitting out on a raft, in a body of water, on a 90+ degree day all day can do that to a person, especially when they're a little on the fair-skinned side (and I forgot to put on sunscreen until we beached for lunch... silly me).
The shiner is another matter. I'm pretty sure I got it when I got tossed into the river the first time and came up *under* the raft. Had my sunglasses on and think I may have hit the boat face first, but I'm not sure. Glasses cut me a little right under my left eye and it's a little bruised, but not bad.
Other than that, it was a pretty enjoyable trip. Hadn't rafted the Clackamas River before and it was actually a lot of fun for being mostly class 3. Thinking about doing the Cal Salmon run next year which is a class 4/5 run and is a weekend trip, but we'll see.
Went to
chaoticbeauty's place after and her, Mer and I drank until I couldn't feel the burn much anymore (and it was starting to get light out).
Yep. Was a good weekend.
