my continued foray into photography...

I admit it - I'm becoming addicted to photography. In reading up on some technical aspects, I came across the term candid photography. That's what I love! I don't like manipulating a scene or asking someone to pose. I love capturing that decisive moment, where a story can be told in an instant. I often feel the pang of regret at allowing such a moment to pass while I'm toying around with technicalities of exposure. Many at Dragon*Con probably noticed my proclivity for the candid. I did ask several people to pose, especially if they had awesome costumes. However I prefer at capturing the unexpected moments, though some may be peeved when they see an unexpected flash aimed in their general direction.

I guess such capturing is easier to do without the flash :). I still have a lot to learn and experience before I consider myself a adept photographer, a long way to go indeed. I'm not going to limit myself to only candid shots, but I feel a strong pull to take them...

Here's a picture I dug up from earlier this summer. The current ISS photo contest entailed "motion". Too bad I didn't set this shot up again:

Nope, no photo manipulation here. Just caught Belle as she was shaking off water after dipping in the kiddie pool.
