Don't you hate it when you go to start a new LJ post, and hit backspace it sometimes takes you to the main page. Guh.
Anyway, what happened last week? well, I went to the book fair and picked up some really cheap graphic design books (not program books, I need CS5 which will cost me an arm and a leg, but anyway) but graphic design books that help with inspiration. I also found a book with different colour layouts which sould help greatly. They are from the 90s but they still have a lot of relevant information, plus I only paid like 4-5 each for them (which seems a lot when most books are 2 dollars at this book fair) BUT, the original price for most of them was about 40 dollars. So Yay!
Found some interesting books too, the monk who sold his ferrari and why I hate Canadians (that is of course a Will Ferguson book, I love Will's books!) and a book about manga, which again is old (from the 90s...WHY am I saying thats OLD, omg.. thats not OLD, I'm not OLD...*cry*)
Pardon that sudden outburst...but yes, most of the things he talks about is older manga from the 80's anyway...so its not that bad.(what am I saying, thats not old either...*shifty look* Amy <----(born in 82) He talks about the classics, but keeps away from sailor moon or dragon ball which I like. I mean, I LOVE Sailor Moon, don't get me wrong, but I'm interested in the other popular manga of that time. So far its really interesting. I'm reading like two books at once now, but thats OK. :D
Kayla spent the weekend with me. We had bubble tea, and Davids tea, went to the Chinese market in Riverview. OK, they sell Bubble tea powder and the tapioca pearls for anyoen who wants to make their own bubble tea! Still, I think Grant's over at Zen Gardens is the best. I wish I knew how to make it the same way!
Monday I went to Moncton High with Dale (president of my college) to show my portfolio. I was really nervous, I know I'm older than the students (obviously) but I'm not good with speaking to a group of people. That said, I did pretty good despite that fact (If I do say so myself) Dale is a talker by nature, so I was grateful for him being there when I showed my work. He kind of lead me along when I couldn't find the words.
I'm good with pictures, not words! lol
Anyway, we spoke to Mr. Kealy's class and one of the kids tehre asked me if I was ANdrew's girlfriend. haha. I guess he used to work with him.
THEN, we went to the Student Resource room, Dale was putting brochures on the wall and I saw Mr. Levesque. He was in the hall and I smiled but he didnt notice me. I thought he forgot about me, but I know its also been 10 years...even more since I had him in grade 9 and 10 so more like 12 years.
BUT, on our way out he was in the hall again and I smiled...he stopped and said "Amy"? lol. so we talked a bit. I introduced Dale to him, and explained I was showing my portfolio. He was really happy. He was one of myt fave teachers. I told dale he tought me french and Social studies (he said history, but we never really called it that when Iwas in HS) and he told us he is the CO-OP teacher now. He had some students iterested in going to McKenzie for coop. :D
hmmm. Been painting. Most of them went to my mom and grandmother for mothers day. ahha. so I need to paint more more more!
aside from that, been dealin with the St.George crazies.
That is all.
