I have to work this weekend. Blows. I'm CURIOUS about free comic book day, but I really don't read comics (save for the occasional manga) so I'm not THAT dissapointed. I AM, however, very EXCITED for the BOOK FAIR next weekend! Yessss, I'll be spending a glorious three days (well, not the WHOLE three days, but you know) Browsing though musty books with pushy OLD PEOPLE!
Ahh~
Seriously, I AM excited. It seems to mark the start of SUMMER for me. And I LOVE books. Currently reading ANNE OF WINDY POPLARS right now. I love how she mentions NEW BRUNSWICK. lol. I dont know any other famous classic novel that involves the Maritimes! Too bad they don't mention names, like MONCTON?? perhaps. Knowing that time, it would probably be like..Sackville, or Saint John...or something. Dunno.
Sooooo, Joe mentioned that his brother has lived in Japan for leik 15 years or something! He knows how much I love the culture, (he complimented me on being "worldly" and doing art that reflects that,,,,*shrug* I dunno!!) and when his brother comes to visit this summer, IF I am working in the studio he will introduce me! :D
Somehow I get these WILD thoughts that he will invite me to stay with him in Tokyo (he lives somewhere in Metro area) and that I will get a grant from the gov't and paint, or take photographs for paintings. AHHA. I have a good imagination huh? It is the cause of my anxieties too I'm afraid. ha!
Anyway, It will be nice to meet him. I'm sure after living in a country for THAT long he would have picked up the language. SO I GET TO TEST MY KNOWLEDGE! yay! So hard when you can't really immerse yourself eh?
LET'S LEARNING WITH ARASHI!
Amy overindulges with
1. Arashi
2. Starbucks
Feeling creative. Started a painting. OMFG its a landscape! I dont usually LIKE doing landscapes, but I've felt the URGE. I'm going to go with it. I really should start an ART blog to post updates and crap. But then I can barely keep up with the two I have now. The other one was supposed to be all the Japanese things I love. But I kind of stopped. Oh yeah, and I tried V-loggin on youtube, but that stalled. Which reminds me, I should really post my class Stop Motion project soon. :D My shitty animations are up for all to see though.
Former co-worker asked me to paint a family portrait for her husband's parents 50th anni. It would have been of her family of four, and her husbands family of five ALL From different photographs. I like doing portraits, but not to reproduce in perfect likeness. I dont think they would be satisfied if their son looked like someone else. LOL. I would have painted him to look like YAMAPI or something,. hahahaha!
But yeah. Even Joe said to politely decline. I dont think he was dissing my ability, but thats waaaay too advanced for me, and the type of art that I do really probably wouldn't suit them. Its hard enough to get though ONE portrait. (one that was supposed to look like me, but only really RESEMBLED ME which was OK since I was going for a past=life self portrait theme type thing....so I THINK I would resemble myself but not look the same)
Sorry for the run on sentences. hahaha!
I hope no prostitutes come in and put their make up on for the night at work. Or hook in the parking lot...with a jug of chocolate milk sitting ont he curb.
*shudder*
WEEEELLL I work in an hour, RE-WATCHING Ushi ni negai wo, love and farm. Makes me think of summer, and May is starting off really nice (a bit cool, but its supposed to warm up this weekend! YATTA)
Ooh! I should re watch HONEY AND CLOVER (the one with SHO, not TOMA. But I liked the TOMA drama too, but the MOVIE is better) AND watch KIIRO NAMIDA! ARASHI ARASHI FOR DREAM.
