My Christmas Vacation So Far...

Dec 23, 2009 22:05

I can't believe that this is my first time to go online since going home from work last Friday, Dec 18! I'm just enjoying every moment of my Christmas vacation with my family, especially with my little Resty. Here's a quick summary of my past week:

December 18 - last day of work but didn't do much in the office... just had a very intriguing discussion about the "exciting and mysterious 2010." *crossing my fingers to a better and brighter 2010*

December 19 - the whole family went to the mall for some last minute Christmas shopping and groceries. I was supposed to go to a get-together with college friends in QC but cancelled at the last minute. I needed to try out the oven that Robert bought me a week before so that we can return it if it's defective and get a replacement right away.

We got home and I immediately prepared the ingredients for chocolate chip cookies -- the easiest to bake, according to the Magnolia Bakery cookbook. I got all the ingredients right except for the 2 most crucial ones -- eggs and butter! The recipe asked for 1 large egg. Our eggs are super duper small so I put 3... big mistake number 1. And then, for the butter, it says, 1 1/3 sticks of butter... what the hell is a stick of a butter?! I ended up putting almost the whole bar of the butter... big mistake number 2! The cookies I baked ended up super big (palm-size) and super flat. They're still edible but has a little bitterness to it. I didn't burn it but its bitter, i don't know why. Hay, so sad. Oh well, gotta try and try. If I failed again.. there's always Betty Crocker and Pillsbury instant brownies and cookies! Hahaha!

On this day also, the Nike-plus ipod sport kit that I ordered online finally came! No more excuses for me not to run and lose weight! Art, Nannah, and I have this Biggest Loser contest in the office and the first weigh-in is the first week of January. With all the sweets, hamons, and quezo de bolas this Christmas... good luck to me losing weight!

December 20 - my first time to try the Nike sport kit! I walked 3.22km in our village oval. My time is 16 minutes ++. I know its super slow compared to D and all you running freaks there, but hey, its my first time and  I didn't run. I just walked fast plus I was pushing  Resty's stroller!

At around noontime, we attended the Christening of Marcus, the son of Robert's friend, in Angeles. Food at the reception is great -- so goodbye 3.22kms as I've probably gained back the calories that I burned and maybe even added a few more. :(

Before the day ended, Robert and I decided to run (or walk) again in the oval. That's 3km more for me! :-)

December 21 - My lucky husband won again in their office raffle. This time its an iTouch. He named it Cinco -- because it's his 5th ipod already, and that is not counting his iPhone!

Robert is so happy that day that he treated me and Mama to a foot spa! :-)

December 22 - Early morning run again with Resty. That's 3km again, and 180 calories burned. At noontime, we went to Manila to visit Resty's Ninang Anne in MTV. He got lots of MTV and Nickelodeon goodies, yey! After MTV, we went to UP for some Chocolate Kiss cakes and we saw Ms. Terry! How time flies, it was only last year that Robert and I were planning our wedding reception at the Choc Kiss with Ms. Terry, and now baby Resty's with us. Next year, Resty will be running around Choc Kiss na!

After UP, we went to Trinoma to have dinner at A Venetto with my mom, Ban, Marye, Auntie Susan, Rosalie, and Monica.

With just that dinner, the 180 calories I burned that morning again no longer mattered.

December 23 - A got a new haircut! I'll post some pics in the next few days.

December 24 - Today. Resty and I went to the oval at around 7 am, which is a bit late already. We only ran 1.22km and burned 104 calories -- and that's so irrelevant with tonight's Noche Buena feast. As far as i know, Mama will cook baked mac and Robert's bulalo, i don't know what else. I'll update as soon as I find out.

So there goes my very busy yet fun week. Looking forward to more family bonding this oliday season. In case I can't go online tonight -- Merry Christmas everyone!
