ANYONE GOOD WITH COMPUTERS?

ok i know i said i wouldn't post a thing until after christams, but i am in desperate need of help. i just got my ipod shuffle thing and tried downloading itunes. it took really fast for my slow ass computer, but when i tried opening it, i kept getting this message that said that i didn't have some "win32 application" thing. does anyone know what this means? i have looked for solutions online, and appparantely many people have been having this problem. some solutions suggest totally rebooting windows...which seems extreme, so anything easier would be much more appreciated.
