Not really a subject at all

Why is it that when you wait for people to invite you out to things or do whatever etc You're not being proactive and aren't accomplishing anything, but when you invite yourself along, or ask if you can go, or invite other people, suddenly you're desperate and clingy? Such a stupid hard line to walk, and I'm tired of it. I feel like if people want to spend time with me, they'll invite me. If I feel like I wanna spend time with someone specific, I invite them, and I have been. It's just that after a particularly long while of being ignored or shuffled to the background noise, and watching as they invite everyone but you, I stop wanting to even bother inviting them in the first place. Vicious circle, but whatever, I figure if someone is really compatible with me, then they'll understand.
