Feels like forever since I've touched this thing, and in truth it has. Another semester done and another semester closer to graduation. I've seen a lot of things semester and I really wish I was able to change some things but I can't. Despite all the pain this semester, I'm still here standing and I really don't know how... My mom is doing alright but every part of me wishes that terrible incident never happened which anyone can understand and right now it's a painful thing to watch her everyday but in my heart I know she's still there with me despite everything right now.
On a happier note, I just recently got back from the AISC/ASCE National Student Steel Bridge Competition in Gainesville, Florida. It was an amazing time to watch all these people from across the country come together for this type of competition. Overall we placed 19th out of 42 schools and it's a respectable place though last year's team placed 14th. We beat a few big name schools like MIT, Penn State, and Texas A&M to name a few and that was pretty fulfilling in itself lol. It was a great experience overall and it was definitely something I'm looking forward to being a part of next year (next year Nationals are in Las Vegas!!! VIVA LAS VEGAS BABY!).
After the competition, a few of us stayed in Florida for a few days extra while the rest of the team headed home back to Jersey. We stayed in some condos in Kissimmee, Florida and it was such a fun time and I had a blast. We went to Universal Studios, Typhoon Lagoon, Pleasure Island, and did whatever we thought was fun at the time. I had such a fun time I still think I'm there sorta lol. I blew so much money though and it's going to hurt a bit later when it comes time to pay rent at school and tuition but at the time it felt right because when am I ever going to do that again? You only live once right? I'm living it up a bit and it feels great, I'm also trying to better myself overall this summer and get my license (finally I know) along with learning some things for next years Steel Bridge Competition.
I've got about a week left before I head off to Fort Hunter Liggett, California for Annual Training with my unit again. I'll be away from Jersey from June 7th till about June 29th. I've got no idea whats going to happen on this trip but it should probably be long, sometimes boring, but a wild experience nonetheless lol. It always holds something I've never done before and it'll be my first time on the West Coast. Seems like I'm doing a hell of a lot of traveling lately doesn't it?
Well till the next time, whoever reads this. I'll see you when I see you.
