My top 10 singles, at this point, would look something like:
1. The Dirtbombs - Sharevari 2. Mary Mary - Walking 3. GS&TOP - High High 4. Carl Sims - Hell On My Hands 5. Galaxy Dream feat. Turbotronic - Ready 4 Romance 6. Blame Sally - Living Without You 7. Buraka Som Sistema - Hangover (Ba Ba Ba) 8. Eric Church - Homeboy 9. Big Freedia - Almost Famous 10. Korpiklaani feat. Tuomari Nurmio - Ukon Wacka **
* - counts as a single because it's the lead cut of a five-song digital EP he/she put out through Scion A/V
** -Finnish humpa-folk metal that sounds a lot like "Seminole Wind" by John Anderson
Top 20 albums would look something like:
1. Randy Montana - Randy Montana (Mercury) 2. Cauldron - Burning Fortune (Earache) 3. Nazareth - Big Dogz (Eagle Rock Entertainment) 4. Gentleman’s Pistols - At Her Majesty’s Pleasure (Rise Above) 5. John Waite - Rough and Tumble (Frontiers/No Brakes) 6. Kultur Shock - Ministry Of Kultur (Kultur Shock) 7. Stealing Angels - Stealing Angels (Skyville) 8. Yaron Herman Trio - Follow The White Rabbit (ACT) 9. Thompson Square - Thompson Square (Stoney Creek) 10. The Dirtbombs - Party Store (In The Red) 11. Premonition 13 - 13 (Volcom Entertainment) 12. Blame Sally - Speeding Ticket And A Valentine (Ninth Street Opus) 13. Gutbucket - Flock (Cuneiform) 14. Garland Jeffreys - The King Of In Between (Luna Park) 15. Eric Church - Chief (EMI Nashville) 16. Ghost - Opus Eponymous (Metal Blade/Rise Above) 17. Too Slim and the Tail Draggers - Shiver (Underworld) 18. Black Spiders - Sons Of The North (Dark Riders) 19. Selena Gomez & the Scene - When The Sun Goes Down (Hollywood) 20. Sarandon - Sarandon’s Age Of Reason (Slumberland)
Have a shot at my Pazz & Jop ballot, still, despite not technically qualifying for the list above: 2010 albums by Carl Marshall and Band Perry; E.via best-of mix CD sent by Frank Kogan.
Surprising trend of the year: That I like so much new rock music, with guitars and stuff. Though that may have something to do with listening to more of it, since Rhapsody put me on the metal beat.
Guess I need to listen to that Roach Gigz album/mixtape/whatever more. I've had it in my car since January; always like a couple things on it pretty well, but none enough. And I don't think I've ever had much desire to make it all the way through the thing.

Well, I don't expect the Roach Gigz tape to still be in my ten come December; I'd say the Roach Gigz track to listen to right now is "Wild Child," which will be on his next tape, he says.
