Summer Reading: Final Episode.

Being back at school, I have no more time for pleasure reading... probably. Here's what I read since last episode:

Cell by Stephen King. Silly in places, yes, but otherwise excellent, intelligent, engrossing.
For One More Day by Mitch Albom. Sappy and sentimental, however still emotionally impacting.
The Black Tulip by Alexandre Dumas. First chapter is murder, sentences half a page long. The rest, superb. I should read more historical fiction.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling. Exciting conclusion to the series, far and away the best of the seven books. However: LONG.
Is the Virgin Mary Appearing at Medjugorje? by Rene Laurentin and Ljudevit Rupcic. Nice objective look at the "claimed" apparitions. And yes, she is definitely appearing at Medjugorje.
Maximum Ride: Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports by James Patterson. Appropriately fast-paced finish to the trilogy, a very good read. Some minor things make no sense, though.

All in all, good reading. But now I have the mountainous "complete works of Plato" (among other things) to look forward to. Oh, dear.

sap, college, books
