2000-(dash)

Have you ever wanted to tell someone about your life? Did you ever think it was interesting enough to be in a book? Of course, we never think our lives are good enough to be printed. But what if it really is? I want people to read about me as I come of age. I want people to relate to me. I want people to think "Yeah, I remember when my life was like that." I want to hear them say those things as they read my story. Holden Caulfield got his chance, and the whole world watched him go on his journey to find himself. Shouldn't other teenagers get the chance? I want his chance.

But where would I start?

What place would I pick to begin my journey?

Should my journey even have a beginning?

Why can't it just start?

Maybe no one wants to be thrown in the middle. Maybe I can pick a year and start there. like Yazaka Ken and his seventeenth year in 1969. But that's been done before. No one likes a copy and paste. Yeah, my story's different alright, but it feels the same. Picking a year and starting there. But who says I have to pick only one year. One year doesn't cover shit. It's the years that make up our lives, not one year out of a hundred. Yeah, that's why my story's going to be different. I'll cover a decade. Make it spectacular. Then no one will forget those ten years of my life. They will forget those ten years of their lives. That's what I'm going to do. I've got it.

Now get ready for the wildest decade you've ever experienced, and it comes at the turn of the century and millenium all at once. Here comes the year 2000.
