During the summer I bought a couple
Groupon coupons for an online site called
Little Shop of Beauty. They had some cool sounding flavours of lip balms, hand lotions and the like. I cashed them out in early November and placed my order, choosing the cheapest a shipping method that quoted 5-8 days.
I was busy with work and other things, so I kind of forgot about it until recently. But last week I realized that it had been over 2 weeks with no follow up email nor anything in the mail, so I decided to send them an email politely asking the status of my order. A week passes and nothing but silence.
I decided to take a more direct approach and call them up. You know what I get? An automated message saying "We are currently experiencing high volumes of orders, so we are not taking any phone calls. Please send us an email at ".
Talk about a bad way to handle customers... I've waited 3 weeks for an order that was only supposed to take 1, no ones answered my email and I can't physically call anyone. Sure you must be busy, but you can't even spare your receptionist to answer the phone? How do I know you're not just taking my money?
Maybe I'm overreacting, but it just seemed like a pretty laughable response. After Googling the shop it seems like they've have problems in the past like absurdly late shipments and overrated quality of products. Guess I'll have to just hope for the best.
