I'm glad you all liked Megatron so much.
Have another drabble?
belledragon 2, 9 10. Underwater, A New Experience, iPod
If it weren’t for the swaying blond mop of head, the color difference of Naruto’s eyes and the surface water would have been indistinguishable. Sasuke just squinted his eyes at the bright light, too used to coral dwelling to be doing this so close to sunrise.
“What did you drag me up here for?” Sasuke grumbled, rubbing his eyes and then his hair, tugging out a strand of seaweed.
Naruto grinned a lionfish’s smile and pointed some distance away. Sasuke’s gaze followed the finger, already knowing what he’d see. The vibrations had reached him twenty miles away, hence the reason Sasuke wanted a bit of a lie in. To muffle the noise. But the underbelly of the great ship could be seen slicing through the waves. Immediately Sasuke knew what Naruto had brought him here, and just as quickly Sasuke turned fin and flipped, diving back in the water before…
“OUCH!”
But Naruto had grabbed him by the curl of his dorsal, tail swinging madly in an effort to keep Sasuke from leaving. “Just ten minutes!”
“No, Naruto! I said no the last time, and the time before that, and the time-“
“And you always agree so can we just skip the dramatics this time?”
“You-get-Naruto!”
Naruto grinned that smile again-beautiful and exotic with a hint of poison if you rubbed it wrong. His thumb rubbed justunder the dorsal, that spot, soft enough but with enough friction that Sasuke jolted forward, wrapping his torso about Naruto’s midsection and hissing, “Fine, but after this we do something I want to do.”
Naruto whooped, and Sasuke gave a soft purr of discontent as the thumb left. Naruto flicked his tail at him as he darted after the foamy white trail, Sasuke his unlucky and rather reluctant comrade in The Next Great Adventure.
While Sasuke despised the trail of waste that normally trailed such ships, Naruto reveled in them. The ‘artifacts’, the trinkets, the everything he collected in his own private cavern upon the reef.
They drifted along at a steady pace, Sasuke making soft clicks in his throat to keep track of the distance they traveled. He didn’t want to go more than two miles. If they did his older brother would come looking and Naruto’s over-protective pod would get their scales in a rot.
Lost in his thoughts, Sasuke barreled right into Naruto, causing them both to drift in a clumsy circle in the surface currents. Untangling himself, Sasuke saw Naruto’s attention diverted to something else in his hand.
It was flat and roughly the size of his palm. It was clear and pale like a baby conch, a long, thin spindle sprouting from the top and whipping slowly in the water. But the most curious thing was the tiny sphere of multi-colored light glimmering at its center.
“What is it?” Sasuke grunted, interest begrudgingly piqued.
“I don’t know!” Naruto said excitedly. He was poking it all over, turning it this way and that. “Maybe-“
But Naruto didn’t get to finish his sentence. He’d pressed something that caused the most awful, spine tingling noise to erupt from the tips of the white cord like the poisonous bundles of a jellyfish’s tentacles. In a moment Sasuke had reeled Naruto back from it, baring his fangs and hissing at it. Every inch of his skin, and most especially his ears, ripped with nauseating pain. Naruto blinked, vaguely stupefied, hands clamped firmly over his ears. Sasuke tucked his body around Naruto’s and pulled, powerful tail stroking as hard as it could as the mysterious device floated like a bubble to the surface, shrieking and wailing, ”The fish on the land ain’t happy, they sad ‘cause they in the bowl…”
Sasuke never swam so fast in his life.
Guess the lyrics at the end, haha? And the iPod was in a waterproof case, if you were curious.
