So my work gave me this stupid gift credit card...I wish they had just given me cash or a check...but anyway...
Here's what was on my wish list.
1. Floor mat for driver's side of car (my car came with every mat, except this one)
2. Head rest/pillow, also for driver's side of car
3. Wooden hangars for polo shirts
4. Universal remote for TV
5. Wireless mouse for work
Ok, here's an explanation of what I was looking for, and how what I bought turned out even better than what I was expecting to buy.
1. I was able to buy just the one mat instead of a whole set. It's reversable, so if I get muddy feet or something, I can just flip it over and have something nice and rubberized to step on for easy clean up. It matches the interior of my car perfectly...don't know how that happened. It was also only rang up for $3.99.
2. I thought that they had sold out of the little pillows that I was looking for, but they hadn't. I feared that it would be too thick and push my head forward, but it fits perfectly. Well worth the $15.
3. I'm trying to prevent the dimples in my polo shirts caused by hangars, so I was going to buy some hooden ones...but they were only slightly larger than the plastic ones that I already have. I found some extra large ones that are almost as wide as my shoulders are. I think that they should work quite nicely.
4. I have a cheap, off-brand TV that has a cheaply made remote control. From experience, I tend to destroy remote controls by swiping them off chairs, beds, tables, desks, etc. on to the floor, so I wanted to get a universal remote so I can preserve the original in case I need it later down the road. Also, I don't like the layout very much. Well, I grab a Sony one, since those have worked relatively well for me in the past with cheap TVs, and the first code that I tried worked.
5. Our lazy Republican teller that just talks on the phone with her kids all day discovered that she was the only one in the office not blessed by the technology department with a mouse with a scroll wheel, so she had to have one too. For quite some time, I've wanted a wireless mouse at work since I've repeated knocked over various beverages with the mouse cable, so I thought that I would go pick one up and give lazy Republican teller the one I was using. I was going to get a GE model that I had seen in the paper, since I'm familiar with the model (a wired version is now being used on a friend's computer) and was on sale for $14. However, Target was sold out. Fortunately, there was a Logitech model (with pretty red and blue little covers) for just a dollar more on clearance. Hurrah. Yay for one upping the lazy Republican teller.
...the shopping trip went so well, that I'm waiting for a safe to drop on my head Acme style.
