Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

i finally got to the point. i'm middleway the comic series so i guess i can be realistic about this movie now. i would start with the fact that after the trailer i had pretty high expectations. would like to say they managed not to disappoint me but the movie had one pretty big flow (later about that). i usually hate adaptations and they did manage to make the movie a bit different but a still, bit similar as the comics. with the costumes and the script they used the most important, partially symbolic moments. and what made it awesome is that you felt like you were actually in the book.

Anna Kendrick (Stacey) and Kieran Culkin (Wallace) were just plainly genius. i loved both their characters on screen. especially Wallace. (oh, you cheeky playboy...) but they couldn't fix what was missing: the chemistry between the main characters. i didn't feel at all that there would be something special between Scott and Ramona. even Knives and Scott were better. this made the whole happening worse for me. i felt this would need to be the whole point. that Scott has something incredibly special for Ramona, if it's not even the same for her (which i think is). so it was slightly weird this way, especially the ending. because of the acting it did not feel to be a happy end at all.

anyway, it was an incredibly brilliant movie against this problem. i would recommend everyone to watch it. even if those evil movie firms decide not to show it in the movies of your home country. like Hungary. eh.

so i would link this little music video to one of the soundtracks (as the don't allow me to put it in here...).

Todd: Tell it to the cleaning lady on Monday.
Scott: What?
Todd: Because you'll be dust by Monday... because you'll be pulverized in two seconds. The cleaning lady? She cleans up... dust. She dusts.
Scott: So, what's on Monday?
Todd: 'Cause... it's Friday now, she's the weekends off, so... Monday, right?"
