Something else entirely

You know how I was in Venice and how I never write about these trips I take because I use actual hand-written diaries for travelling? Well. One thing I really need to note down online, because it's easier with the pictures and stuff. Yes pictures! Follow my into the nerdy abyss that is a part of my mind:

I was at the Peggy Guggenheim collection, looking at modern art and marvelling and raising eyebrows when, suddenly, in a remote corner:

It's "La voix des airs" by René Magritte (the guy who brought us guy with appleface). The official translation for the title was "Voice of space". You know what else is set in space? Doctor Who is. (Series four this Saturday OMG etc.) And you know what Doctor Who has? Villains that are aliens. And you'll see that this babbling all makes sense (haha) when I present you:

The Toclafane. Pretty aren't they? And nowhere online, not in the encyclopedias or anywhere, is this striking similarity mentioned! I found something FIRST. This is awesome! And it goes on! Because the first series of Doctor Who also gave us Tree People of the Forest of Cheem - I can't find a decent picture, what is it with the internet! - and at the Guggenheim Collection I found "The Break of Day" by Paul Devaux:

How neat is THAT! I bet they all just travelled with the Doctor one time or other.

And while we're (okay while I'm) talking of nerdy things: I caved today and signed up for that crazy viral marketing campaign for "The Dark Knight" and I had Gary Oldman IN MY TELEPHONE. He talked to me! GARY OLDMAN! Like, Sirius Black! Of course he was Comissioner Gordon on the phone but STILL!!!! I feel like using up my whole allowance of exclamation marks for this. !!!!!!etc.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !
