Dude. DUDE. Why did no one tell me that OK Go is suddenly all big and popular and Grand Poobah-like? I mean, they always have been in my heart of hearts, but suddenly they are loved by the General Public? Que es esto? I feel that this is the musical equivalent of Howard Dean. One year my ickle unknown boo, the next something that everyone's talking about. And if I ever use the phrase "ickle unknown boo" in a sentence again, you may all feel free to slap me.

In other news, I am at Penn and I am madly in love with all of my classes, especially my geology class. It's taught by a hilarious and highly-accented Egyptian professor, whose quotes I imagine I will be posting here regularly. My favorite so far is: "You must come up to me and say OMAR! (For you must call me Omar, not DOCTOR Omar, and not PROFESSOR Omar. If you do these things, I will not talk to you), and you must ask me your question and you must not be shy! Shyness leads only to two things: POVERTY and SHAME." <333

Cellie and I are also taking a class called "Feminist Fairy Tales" (which brought about a phone call from my grandmother after she read my class schedule, asking for an exaplanation of what the hell that meant), which by all appearances will be lovely and brilliant. Any class that assigns a Terry Pratchett book as one of its texts would have to go pretty far to mess up.

Going even farther back to less recent news (notice how I cleverly hide it here in hopes that I can get it over with and no one will actually READ it), Ryan and I broke up exactly two weeks ago, bringing a close to our two years together. Yes, it was fairly amicable; no, I am not over it. It was ridiculously painful and horrible in a dreams-shattering kind of way, and I loved him very much. I'm trying very hard to put that "d" on the end. We shall speak of it no more, because I am also trying very hard to get on with my life.

Right, off to construct a homework calendar for the semester! It is a testament to my geekiness that I find a sexual kind of glee in this ("A test on chapters 2 and 3? Ooo, you NAUGHTY SYLLABUS! Tell me more.").
