CORALINE (no spoilers)

I watched it last night, with a bunch of other animation majors (which, by the way, makes watching any movie WAY MORE FUN). In 3D.

It... was gorgeous. Oh man. And stop motion, which means I was all kinds of impressed with what they were able to pull off. There were crazy cool camera moves. Scenes where we spun around inside a room. A scene where a whole ton of mice danced (probably at least 30 of 'em) in synchronization. Mad props to those animators.

And MAD props to the filmmakers, because they started the movie with the famous voice actor list. Why is this so cool, you say? Because when the credits started rolling, the animators were first on the list. No joke. I'm so proud of them for finding a way to put them at the top of the end credits.

Oh, and it freaked me the heck out, but I survived. Some movies have disturbing parts, but the central concept of this film makes my insides go auuuuughghggh. Couple of jump scenes, but not too bad.

And yet, it was gorgeous, so I ended up not minding too much. Definitely would recommend it to any animation nerds out there.

Oh, final note: Our group stayed in the theater after the lights went up and talked about the movie and animation in general... and then we realized that there was another group still in the theater. We found that they were all Animation Mentor graduates. Hahaaa.

Also I wanted to try out my new "love" icon. Because I was watching Swat Kats recently and found it... and chuckled for a couple minutes while I screencapped and icon'd it. :D
