BOLT

I had never seen a movie in 3D.

Until now.

Bolt... was pretty awesome. Takes a backseat to Kung Fu Panda and Wall-E, methinks... but still pretty dang great. And worth it if you're an animation nerd. Seriously, the animation is SO GREAT. And the general look... ugh, it's beautiful. Take it from a girl who grew up in Ohio that the Ohio scenes LOOK like Ohio. (including our unfortunate newfangled tagline in the border sign - it USED to be "The heart of it all!" which was way better) Those white flowers in the background - they grow along every highway. And if you put 'em in food coloring the flowers suck up the color. C: And that grass looks even BETTER than real grass because it looks like it'd be the comfiest stuff to lie down on (which is not what grass is actually like).

Though I will protest that Ohio =/= RV park. They were in Southern Ohio, and the fact that it's hilly reinforces that. Remember, that's the part of the state that touches Kentucky and West Virginia. :) :)

Plot? Little predictable, but we knew that going in. I really liked letting the movie take me along for the ride, and I did like how they handled the ending. And they don't shy away from using actual company names on stuff, which is a little jarring at first but I think really helps make it feel more real... they definitely don't get in the way of the story. So what if that truck is a UHaul? If anything we understand its function faster. And the kid driving it is wearing a USC shirt *involuntary twitch* so we know without getting it crammed in our face that he's going to California. And it just makes Vegas more legit to SEE "Caesar's Palace" on the side of the road.

But GUYS. ANIMATION. SO PRETTY. I can only hope that I can be that cool someday.

Oh, and Miley Cyrus didn't ruin it. :D And Mittens rocks. Actually, I like every cat in this movie :D :D

I am so pleased that I keep seeing movies and they keep not sucking.
