[Canon] Kobato
[Point in time taken from canon] Chapter 1. First you have the exam chapters which are 1-9 then it's this chapter I'm picking her up from.

[Background]
Since there is actually no good wiki for Kobato I previously have written this background up.

Kobato is in a sense not alive, but also not dead. This is due to a war between the spirit world and heaven that was over some angel Ioryogi, a spirit, fell in love with. During this war of sorts there appeared a crack or hole that separates heaven and the human world. This ended up sending shock-waves from the battle in heaven upon the earth of the human world. The person who had taken the full force of this shock-wave was a young girl who was a mere human, the girl nearly dying because of this quarrel between the two. The angel, the one the war was over, offered in exchange for her own life to stop time for the young woman affected, therefore leaving her in what is known as an ambiguous state, where she isn't truly alive, but at the same time she is not truly dead. {This wasn't mentioned until many chapters after I picked her up from but it explains why she is the way she is.}

With her memories of that time and her life before gone, the girl named Kobato appeared back in the human world with only a suitcase, umbrella and a stuffed toy dog that she called Ioryogi.

Upon getting to this new sort of world, the first thing she had to do was show that she had common sense and could handle every day situations as normal people would be able to. The first thing that she did was stay at a children's playground within a tunnel type of play equipment to be able to talk to Ioryogi and when asked what her excuse was because they could have secret conversations and it seemed fun. This ended up with him flaming her.

After a discussion, talking about her wish was, and what she needed to do to be able to get that wish granted, she was given her first task. Since they were in a park, Ioryogi told her to behave like someone would normally act in a park in the early hours of the morning. Understanding the basic orders, or what she thought was understanding, she went to the garbage can and got out an old newspaper and laid down on a nearby bench, placing the used newspaper over her. After asking how that was, it once again ended with him flaming her as she had got what he meant completely wrong.

Her next task was to see how Kobato would handle taking out the garbage, or to show him how people would do it normally, after a woman had handed over her trash to Little Miss Memory-less, due to the fact the woman was going to miss the bus and didn't have time.

She managed to find the dumpster, but due to the crows that were hungry and eyeing the garbage bag that was there, as well as the one she had in her arms, Kobato ended up taking pity on the birds. Despites the sign near the dumpster saying to leave as little trash as possible, she didn’t toss the trash out like a normal person would, but opened her bag and held it out for the crows to have, which ended with having the crows come flying at her.

Afterwards, they ended up back at the park to which Kobato explained to Ioryogi why she did what she did. Her reasoning for it being that the crows wanted the garbage, and the sign had said to leave as little waste as possible. Kobato figured that if you gave the crows the garbage, then you would have less to throw out. Once again, this ended up Kobato getting flamed, and getting the new nickname of Dobato, which means ‘little pigeon’. She was also awarded no points at all, due to the lack of common sense she had on both tests. Kobato, still determined, said that she would try very hard for the next time.

Upon a completely different day she gets a new task to do, to prove that she had some sort of common sense in her when it came to food. She was given this task when they spotted a stall while they were walking and they needed help, so Kobato offered to give them an extra hand. It was going pretty well, too, no accidents this time until she was asked to make nabe by a customer and since she had no clue how to do it, she did it in the wrong order AND added ingredients that shouldn’t even be in a nabe from milk to chocolate. The result looked awful as no one would want to eat it, or as Ioyogi kindly put it, “It might be what hell looks like.” But the customer, who was brave enough, tried it and, lucky for his digestive system and Kobato, he actually liked it, even though it looked so horrible. So more people then started to try it too and agreed. This made Kobato quite happy that, even though it was an accident, it turned out well and she didn't make anyone sick~ After the work she did, she got a score of zero for common sense of the nabe, but because it did end well, she at least got some points this time. <3

Happy that she was one step closer to being able to get her wish, she promised she was going to try even harder next time.

During the course of a few days, she was given little tasks with one being to understand and show what people do at Christmas, which she got completely wrong at the beginning when she tried to ask a gentleman with his girlfriend if he wanted to stay with her at a hotel for the night. From that misunderstanding, she ended up selling Christmas cakes and got one herself as payment for working. When she was walking home she saw someone who had missed their chance to buy a cake for their son, and in the end, Kobato gave her the one she had, showing Ioryogi that she had an understanding of what Christmas was, and therefore getting more points. It was a small step but she was actually making progress. More little tasks were given to her and each had their own problems, but she always managed to get by it and eventually got a glass flask that she needed to be able to start her real task of collecting people's healed hearts, and the candied form they took on.

Of course the first thing she had to do was actually have a place to live in. Living in a child's playground was out of the question, since people would find that a bit odd, so she found a place that was run by a woman named Chitose Mihara, who kindly showed her to the room that she was going to be staying at during her time there. But while she was being shown to her room, she left Ioryogi outside while she went inside to see her new place. After a while, and trying to stay hidden, he had managed to get back only to yell at her for leaving him behind.

The day afterwards was the start of her new task of being able to heal the hearts of those that need healing, but because of the way she went about it [which was to just randomly walk up to anyone and ask if they were suffering or if they wanted healing], people thought she had meant something rude instead of what she actually meant, which was only to help them. After some hours passed and wither her plight going nowhere, an old man had come up to her and mentioned the fact that she had been asking people if they wanted healing and asked just how much. Kobato, being completely and adorably clueless, did not quite understand what the old man really wanted, and said it didn't cost anything. She just wanted to heal people, so the old man agreed, going so far to say “You can heal me in all sorts of ways.”

Kobato was about to go with the old man, when Ioryogi flamed the man away from her and had to explain to her that he didn't want his heart healing, he wanted his crotch healed, as in sexual favours, but without having to say it out loud. The man, who was quite annoyed at being hit away, grabbed her by the arm asking if this was a set up and went to hit her, when a random guy rushed to her defence~ After the guy knocked the old man away, he spoke to Kobato saying that if she wanted to do something like that to go do it somewhere else. Since Kobato didn't understand what prostitution was, she didn't understand what he was on about until a little bit later when asking Ioryogi about what it meant.

The next day while out walking, a sheet came out of nowhere and hit her, making her fall over. A woman came and helped her out, as she was the owner of the sheet that hit her in the first place. Kobato quickly assumed that the woman might need her heart healed, and after things were explained, Kobato asked if she could help out with the kindergarten that they were standing in front of. On entering the kindergarten the woman introduced herself as Sayaka Okiura; this was after Kobato introduced herself, of course. Just after the introduction someone interrupted saying something about hiring help from a weirdo like that. The guy turned out to be the same guy who she had met before, the one who hit the old man and rescued her. Both he and Kobato reacted similar when asked if they were friends, to which they both said “Hardly” which was a polite way of saying not at all. Sayaka soon introduced him as Kiyokazu Fujimoto and they will be working together from then on, also stating that she believed that Kobato doesn't seem to be a bad person at all. Kobato ended up working as a helper in the nursery and was told by Fujimoto that he would be keeping an eye on her, saying that she can't fool him.

During the night, Kobato thought that she finally had someone that she could try to heal, and that she could try her best to be able to help them~

[Personality]
Kobato is kind of a klutz and tends to do something ridiculously stupid like putting chocolate in nabe. Tripping over a lot is her main problem, and it’s usually over nothing. Or, you know, air. She may be a big klutz and unintentionally cause trouble, but she always has a heart as big as anything, always helping others with their problems. She does this not just because she needs to, but because she genuinely wants to. Her intentions are pure and good, and the only thing shady about her is the brim of her hats.

To her, suffering makes her sad, and it deeply upsets her to see anyone else be upset or even get hurt. She'll even step in or step in front of someone if she has to, just to defend them. She may look like a girl who if threatened would back off, but if a friend was in trouble she would go to their aid. Fragile looking does not mean that she would behave as such. She will stand up for those who need someone in their corner, and is truly devoted to ease the pain and heal those broken hearts.

She's pretty naive when it comes to things, since she has no memories of what had happened to her, and her innocence is what really makes her endearing. All she knows is there is a place she wants to go, and to do that she has to fill a flask up with no-longer-broken hearts. Anything else seems to be new and unusual for her. It’s not really stupidity to blame when it comes to not understanding simple things like what to say to people or what people do on certain days of the year; it’s more so lack of experience, and a wee bit of cluelessness. She can learn, but it just takes time.

Her outlook on things is very positive. Super Optimist to the rescue~ If one has a negative view, she won't see it like that. The only things visible to her are the innate goodness, and the tragedies that break people and their hearts, really. She always tries her best, but it always ends up going wrong, which annoys Ioryogi. But these actions are ones that are always heartfelt and sincere, as she means what she says, and tries proving that in her words and actions as well.
[Abilities]
She can heal people’s hearts of what has been bothering them. The way she heals hearts is basically the same as what a normal person would do, being a good friend, figuring it out and helping that person overcome it. It's not exactly magical, but what happens after the healing is magical in a way of that when she does heal a heart, the 'candy', as it is called, of the person’s heart will then appear within a glass flask that she has.

She uses this method to be able to get her wish of going somewhere. She has to fill it to the top with wounded hearts that have been healed to be able to get that wish.
[Other important stuff]
Not that I know of anyway.
[Sample post]
[First Person]
1. There is a cake in the rain. What do you do?

Oh no! The poor cake!

I would need to find out who the cake belonged to, aplogise and then make them a new one. Maybe then that will heal their heart of losing such a nice looking cake.

2. You're asked to take someone out for a date. Do you agree? If so, describe what you would do. If not, tell why.

If it heals their heart I would.
We would have fun and ummmm...I'm sure there is something fun we could do. I once read about a funfair in a magazine I was reading, that looked like fun. Oh, but isn't there a thing called a haunted house at a place like that? That doesn't sound as fun, that sounds scary.

Maybe there would be something that was more fun, but I would have to read more magazines to know what's out there. Maybe I could always try my hardest and hope for the best. Whatever it is that needs doing will be done.

3. What were you doing before now?
Healing the wounded hearts of people and making them feel better. I was also going to start working with little children to help the owner and hopefully help her wounded heart.

4. Someone comes to you to ask for the time. How would you respond?
I would politely say I don't have the time, but I will help them in trying to find it out.

5. You discover someone stalking you. Do you call the police or deal with it yourself?
I don't know what stalking is? Do you think it will be in a magazine or on the television?

6. What is more important to you: having friends or living on your own? Why?
I can't get too close to anyone I heal, but I can have friends to protect. I like living alone as well... though I'm living with Ioryogi so that's not really alone is it? I think I would like having friends more.

[Third Person]
Kobato looked on cheerfully at her new surroundings. The wind blowing through the trees as they swayed, the people around walking by as they went about their own business either going to work or to school.

Kobato on the other hand just stood there, taking it all in and seemingly happy at the situation. Taking a step down from where she was standing only moments ago she went and put her suitcase down, kneeling down to go open it and check that everything she would proberly need was within.

Umbrella. Check

A couple hats. Check.

A couple outfits to go with hats. Check

Glass flask needed for peoples healed hearts. Check.

Once the check was complete, Kobato picked up the glass flask from it's suitcased safe point and held it up to the sky. Held up, the sun reflected lightly off the glass, making it appear to shine or sparkle as Kobato looked at it with amazement in her eyes. "This was given to me so I can work to get my wish. My wish to go to that place."

She soon put it back within the case before standing up again, suitcase in hand and a smile on her face, one which still hadn't left her face since she got there. Raising her hand in a joyful manner, Kobato cried out, "Kobato Hanato will try her best at healing people's damaged hearts!" With this new found determination Kobato started to take her first few steps towards her goal, but due to her not noticing a tree branch sticking out of the ground close by, Kobato tripped over and landed face first on the floor, her suitcase flung forwards ahead of her.

All Kobato could do was slowly get back up and smiled while people were staring at her and a couple of them even asking if she was okay.

"I'm fine, I'm okay." She replied with a slight laugh added in, as she rubbed her nose as it started to become swore and stinged a little due to the fall. Once the people were sure she was definatly okay they had gone about their business once again leaving Kobato to wipe herself down, curl her hands into a ball and pose with a determined face once again before going to pick up her suitcase.

"Kobato Hanato will do her best. I can do it!" She cheered as once again she started to walk as she stopped, watching the walking people pass by. This was when insperation hit and started to ask everyone the same question, all with the same reply or either ignore her or saying no.

"Do you want me to heal your heart?" She kept saying with more people starting to ignore her. It seemed this mission of her would take longer than she first thought.

[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?]

The premise of the game was always something that interested me, but I could never think of the right character that I wanted to try and app here. After having Kobato in a few different RP's I felt she was the most suitable for here after a good think. Also I just miss playing her somewhere.

[Which rule was your favorite and why?]

Be nice to each other. Only because it's something that's usually important in a game. I've seen around what can happen in a wank storm and I'm not a big fan of it.

[Where did you hear about Somarium?]

App_this_plz last month... it has taken me this long to app here.

[Any questions?] Can Kobato carry around her flask?
