Walk around the park.
Temple high in the caves.
Top of the stairs leading down to the caves
We sat here and enjoyed the view for a little while
And it was a gorgeous view
Man climbing the stairs
Prayer Locks tied with red ribbon along the stairway
The trek down
The view when we got to the bottom of the stairs. It was like something from a movie set.
I kept joking that combatants should be meeting at dawn to do battle :)
People testing their luck
The aim of the game is to drop a coin in the frog's mouth through the water.
More atmospheric shots
We stopped for some snacks at a tiny teahouse. Fried rice, hot and sour noodles and sweet tofu. This was the view as we ate.
On the way out of the park
Alas our hotel room was deeply grotty.
The blankets way too tiny for the bed and the temperature.
And the bathroom was kind of scary and incredibly smelly :)
Measley toilet roll. Chinese low star hotels are always very stingy with the toilet paper they provide! :)
The Canadian refuses to queue jump. When a stupid Chinese shop keeper tried to make us check our bags in, I said just keep walking, you are a foreigner they won't force you but The Canadian refused and left the shop. He said the "poor woman was just trying to do her job" and he refused to take advantage of his foreigner status to bend the rules. Oh well. :)
I don't like queue jumpers either, but if no one is queuing and they're all queue jumping, I must confess I'll just leap in, too - something that horrifies the very orderly Canadian ;)

On the morning of our departure from Leshan, we stopped here to have brekky. Menu in Leshan. Chicken wings with noodles, chicken legs with noodles, skin of chicken feet with noodles, shredded chicken with noodles, chicken feet with noodles, chicken head with noodles, chicken heart with noodles etc
The bus trip left Leshan at 12.30 and got us back at around 2.20pm. We caught a cab to the airport. The cab broke down and we had to switch cabs. Our flight to Beijing was at 7pm and we tried to switch to an earlier flight but the flights were full. Our flight was delayed until 7.40pm and we sat at the airport and over-ate on KFC and ice cream :)
Weird, unidentifiable fruit at Chengdu airport. Smells lemony
And now we are back in Beijing! :)
