I watched the ad again and even though I know my patriotism is being all manipulated, I have to confess I still love it. Oh, it just manipulated me too. I fell for it so very easily.

Why don't those men have necks?! They're freaking me out! On the upside, I laughed at Tina Turner's hair several times ;).

I love it because a lot of it actually still feels very true for me :D

As to football players, I think maybe if you have less of a neck you're less likely to get injured! :D I used to see those ads all the time but I just realised that you were just a wee little shadowserenity back then and probably not watching television ;)

Yes! Australia footy players definitely are a wee bit beefy for my liking. I think I prefer the physique of basketball players, tennis players or soccer players myself :D

Its like watching concrete slabs with legs running with an oddly shapped ball. Their heads and shoulders are just like one big mass of bodily stuff. I think I will stick with baseball players *nodnod* they have nice butts

All I know about Fosters and Australia is that the Aussies that live on the floor above me like Heineken as that's the only reason I can think of for the number of cases I see them cart in... and the number of green bottles they have been taking out in the last week lol.

Pretty much everyone says Fosters is terrible but the ad is so cute I love it :D

As to the footy players - I almost never find any of them attractive. Baseball players often seem kind of chunky to me, I really think I like basketball and soccer players best. Oh and tennis players of course :D

I wonder what it would say if someone made an "I am American" ad like that...
I think the aussie one is cute (and I wanted the Canadian one too).
But I do have to agree with your other beer-drinking friends in saying that Fosters might possibly be the worst beer... ever.
But this is coming from an American, where they make beer that is, as some people say, "piss water".

I think it would be difficult to make an American ad like that because America is such a dominant power/culture right now :) It only works for Canada and Australia because we're small and feel all disenfranchised and wronged ;)
