Mild outrage about Infernal Affairs (無間道) / The Departed

No, this isn't me being one of those annoying people expressing outrage about the fact that Martin Scorsese dares to make a movie called The Departed which is a remake of the sublimely wonderful Hong Kong movie Infernal Affairs (無間道) - a film that is most beloved by me.

I accept that movies get remade, and I have had a few years to grow accustomed to the idea that Infernal Affairs (無間道) was going to be remade and half the people who watched it wouldn't have a clue that it was originally an extremely fabulous, nail-biting thriller from Hong Kong ..... I may even watch the remake one day .....

No. My current outrage stems from the fact that I read something that says watching Infernal Affairs (無間道) will ruin some of the surprise in The Departed. (I was so outraged, I forgot how to type English for a moment there)

WTF??????!!!?? I'm sorry, but that's like saying that reading William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet will 'spoil' you for the Baz Luhrmann movie version of Romeo + Juliet. Argghh! Stab me in the eye with a chopstick. Infernal Affairs (無間道) is the original. Hell if I had my way, I'd make everyone watch that movie first before they watch The Departed! Yes, If I was an Evil Overlord, I'd force everyone to watch movies that I like :D Oooo sooo evil!

Related but not the same, it reminds me of the time my bro said something like: "Yeah and it's sad when Juliet dies" and someone said: "Omigod, I can't believe you just spoiled the movie for me like that!" Would saying that Romeo and Juliet die be considered a spoiler???

Updated: Also, maybe I am still just a bit outraged about the fact that anyone thought that Tony Leung, Andy Lau, Eric Tsang, Anthony Wong & Co could be replaced with Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg and Martin Sheen. I'm sorry, I just can't help it. I'm outraged.

if i was an evil overlord, the departed, infernal affairs
