Acronyms, links and blather
I was reading about the USA Patriot Act today. The fact that it is an acronym for "Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001" not only makes me laugh as I think of how long it must have taken for them to come up with that, it totally reminds me of Calvin setting up the G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy Girls) club. :) I wasn't supposed to get the giggles, I know but well ...
firefly1984 has an interesting post called "Scroll wheel drama" about his dying computer mouse. It's a topic close to my heart given my recent run of bad luck with computer mice... mouses? What is the correct plural for a computer mouse? :)
repr0b8 has written a Helo/Sharon fic called Ashes to Ashes which is excellent. I'm not very lucid right now but I'll just say it's a wonderful story. I really, really want to write an Apollo/Sharon 3.0 story but to write it I need to re-watch the last episode and haven't got the time or the energy right now. I guess I'll just have to rewatch the Memories of You vid ;)
pampers10 made me smile and smile because in her latest post she says that she has finally read my first Harry Potter fic The Boy Who Died. :) I say finally because she's pretty much read most/all (?) of my other HP fics, but had put off reading The Boy Who Died because she was afraid it would be too sad. :) Thanks for reading, dearest :)
I haven't had time to comment on them all but winterspel has an absolute swag of goodies over at her journal. First of all there's 2005: The Year In Music which has lots of wonderful music recommendations. Then there's beautiful 'springy' icons to celebrate her LJ anniversary. Congratulations winterspel dear! Last but definitely not least, she has been doing recaps (work in progress) on the adorable Takeshi Kaneshiro jdorama about bowling which is called 'Golden Bowl'. Episode 1, Episode 2 & 3 and Episode 4. She also provides a link where you can download the dorama. It is a beautiful and heartwarming little drama and I love it although I realise it may not be everyone's cup of tea. The fact that she's recapping is is filling me with gLeE!!!
Yesterday I mentioned My Sassy Girl icons, the same person created some beautiful Windstruck icons and also Il Mare icons. Psst, darksilvermoon and firefly1984 who mourn insufficient icon space .... paid account ..... you know you want to ... :).
A song for today - Mr Zoot Suit by the Flying Neutrinos. It's very boppy and energetic.
