I had a request for Chinese tribal/traditional/folk music. I've set out a few songs below, some Tibetan, some simply folk songs from China as well as a few torch songs from Shanghai from the thirties. In among them are Teresa Teng songs as well as a Li Na song which was a patriotic song in the war of resistance against the Japanese in World War

I know that movie well and I really liked too. I think one of the greatest songs in that movie was the one that went like, "Where, Where have I seen you, Your smile is so familiar..." mm, sorry for the bad translation >.<...but that one is one of my personal favourites of her songs. That one, and the one "You ask me up deep my love is, How much my love is worth, My love will never changing, the moon can represent my heart..." once again sorry for the terribly translation.
I always wondered, if the Teresa that appeared in that movie was the real Teresa Teng. I'm glad though, that the two lovers (Maggie/Leon) ended up together though- in the very end. I think it made me cry :).
Have you seen the Chinese Box? Gong Li was in that, with Jeremy Irons- I think that was a good one too. Gong Li is one of my favourite Chinese Actress.

You're talking about 'The Moon Represents My heart' which is a wonderful song. I also like David Tao's 'tribute' to it - 'The moon represents whose heart'. You can hear it here. You might already know it. I didn't like it when I first heard it (was outraged) but it's actually gorgeous and the MTV is so touching. The song is also used in a very cute mtv for a Tanya Chua song called 'Deep' in which a girl has a net romance, her nickname is "The moon represents my heart' and her mobile ring tone is that song - which is what gives away her identiy in the end :D
The clips of Teresa you saw in the movie were Teresa but I'm not sure if that was real Teresa that we saw walking past :D I haven't seen Chinese Box yet but winterspel mentioned it the other day so I'm going to keep an eye out for it.
