Hehe...smiles all around, this summary is the best I've seen so far of the episode. :P
And was I the only person who wondered where they hell they got the toy Ressurection Ship? Do they have a master model maker on board who builds replicas of Cylon ships in his spare time? I mean....wtf? :P
It came out of a Star Trek replicator that RDM just happened to still have lying around in his office, I think.
But yeah. We've been told about resource shortages more than once. It should really be a generic block that is intended to stand in for "enemy ship". And even that would be tricky, since until recently they hadn't been at war for 40 years.

what? they never heard of origami? Adama could show them how (RE: Blade Runner) & SAVE the PLASTIC for the VIPERS... duh There's plenty of memos floating around I am sure, that they could use for origami battle planning - sheesh - they used a grease pencil in the mini. Did Gaeta chew it to a nubbin during the Big Battle?
The "model" actually reminded me of a tweaked slide magazine (much like these ones). Maybe they would have some of those on board? They would after all look a little different from ours, because their slides naturally would have to be octagonal. ;)
I am horrified at he waste of HR and also materials to make cute toy resurrection ships, cute mini vipers and cute mini cylon raiders - plus that poor dude whose job it is to push them around the table. What's his job description?

No. THAT was what inspired me to write this whole Toy Ship routine ;) I already used to think that when they had those adorable little Toy Vipers and Toy Cylon Raiders but when I saw the Toy Resurrection Ship? Well that was just too much for me
I stole the last two images from your 'Memories of You' vid which I've watched so many times :D
It's also kind of sad and shows how dorky I am that when watching the dramatic 'This is the Battle Plan" scene, I kept thinking about where they got that toy Resurrection Ship, who made it, is there a Papa Geppeto onboard who makes those toys and does that guy who pushes them around the table feel kind of dumb.
"I went to flight school for blah years and they've got me pushing Toy Vipers around a table ... and her ponytail isn't even as cute as Sharon's!" :P
I seriously even almost missed the fact that they were going to deploy ALL of their fighters (dramatic music!) because I was too busy looking at the toys on the table. :)
Well lable me a dork too, because that's all I could think about while I watched this scene. :D
I even found myself wondering how they made it...as a model maker myself, I was wondering where they kept the sheets of styrene and super glue. :P And where they kept the pretty clear stands all the ships rest on...sigh...laugh. :P
I clicked on the model-maker link and what strikes me at first glance is how defiantly Normal your name is compared to the rest.
Sure there's a Justin and a Jamie but then we have
arucartoonguy, WarLord General Phang Fledermaus, Binkley P. Willypepper, burritoeater89, Admiral Lord Coelacanth, First Sea Lord, Cruel Eye, DarthWiater, The Vagino Hat, exploitedfairy, DarkEnigma, GentleStrengthGuys, The Devils Plaything blah blah blah and then ....

Solution: Crumple the paper when you're finished constructing it; nobody'll know it's a ship at all then!
(Yes, their environmental awareness and conservation practices need some work. Something else that Zarek should draw to their attention, I think.)
